Hello, please click here to see how to assemble your PL1810 cleaner.

I see what looks like a handle to hold onto.
So
Does it run by itself?
How does it clean the side wall.

This unit would run off a port of suction and not need to be attached to a tele pole. That piece is a counterweight to help keep the unit upright.

I am assuming that this hose is plugged into the outlet that is below the basket that holds the chlorine tablets? Does this mean that the water is not being chlorinated while this cleaner is plugged in? How long does it take to clean, say a 24' above ground pool?

Yes, the Aqua Pilot Suction Pool Cleaner - PL1810 is installed to the suction side of the skimmer. It is best to place the chlorine tablets in a Floating Chlorine Dispenser The automatic cleaner is a random pool cleaner, it goes where it wants when it wants. The cleaning time will vary depending on how much debris in the water, there is not a set time.

Is the PL 1810 made for inground gunite pools!
I have a Polaris on dedicated line. It does not filter dirt from pool. Will this product remove dirt from walls and bottom of pool?

Hi, JC. This Aqua Pilot Suction Pool Cleaner can be used to remove dirt from the walls and floor of an inground pool with a concrete surface.

After checking every possibility the flapper behind the baffle plate is not working properly. The vacuum runs for about 5 seconds and then stops therefore the vacuum doesn't move around the pool. Do the flappers deteriorate after a few years and can they be ordered? V

Hi, V. The Flow Valve can become worn from moving back and forth causing the cleaner not to work properly.
