When using this cover is it necessary to drain down the pool below the skimmer when you winterize it?

You do not need to drain the pool below the skimmer and lines, however, you can. If you do not then you would want to use pool antifreeze.

Pros: Keeps the cover higher so the pillows work better
Cons: First install you have to lower the water.
I have not used it yet, but our friend has and he raves about it.
