What is the voltage on this unit? How long is the manufactures warranty? If the system requires repairs during warranty, what do I do?

This pump runs on 115V power. This unit comes with a 1 year manufacturer's warranty. If the pump needed repair, you would call Hayward directly and they would put you in touch with a warranty service station in your area.

When should I change the sand in my filter?

You should change the sand in your filter every 5-7 years. You can generally tell that it is time if your pool water is not as clear as it normally is or when you notice the interval between backwashes is shorter. You can use > this guide to walk you through it.

How often do I have to replace the sand in my filter? What is normal operating pressure?
 Reply

On a "fresh start-up" a filter would operate anywhere between 10-20 psi. As a general rule of thumb you only want to backwash when the pressure increases 8-10 psi. You want to make certain that the pump is being turned off whenever you move the handle on the valve. Once backwashing is complete (3-5 minutes), you can switch to the rinse option to re-settle the sand bed. Sand will typically last 5-7 years. Premature backwashing will wear down the size of the sand which will cause difficulties such as cloudy water and higher operating pressures.

Does Hayward have a filter / pump kit that has the 16 inch filter with a dual speed matrix pump?

No, the closest package that you could use is with the 18" sand filter. Model S180T932S.

Would this work on 24' round above ground pool? Is the 1 horse motor enough power to filter correctly? What all come with this? Does it come with fitting, site gage, pressure gage, and hose clamps.

Hello Gene, Yes this would work fine on a 24 round pool, Yes the 1HP is powerful enough for this filter. This comes as a whole unit to start up your filter/pump system so everything (fittings, site glass, pressure gauge, etc.) is included for hook up aside from the sand that goes into the filter that is not included.
