HAYWARD NAVIGATOR PRO
The all new Hayward Navigator Pro introduces Exclusive SmartDrive® technology which makes the Navigator Pro faster and more efficient than any random style pool cleaner. Navigator Pro moves in a predetermined series of right and left turns to systematically provide more thorough coverage of your pool's surfaces. It is the smart choice for all types of in-ground pools. Discriminating pool owners will value Navigator Pro's ability to clean their pool in an intelligent manner. Compared to other suction cleaners, Navigator Pro's technology allows for a silent operation. You can enjoy a pleasant and peaceful pool environment even when the Navigator Pro is hard at work.
Navigator Pro gives you easy, trouble-free operation. And because it's powered by your existing filtration system, you don't have the expense of an energy-consuming booster pump. You won't waste time emptying or replacing debris bags. Getting that sparkling clean pool is easy and effortless. When you install your new Navigator Pro as part of the Totally Hayward® System, you get the assurance of knowing you have a complete system, designed to work together for the best automatic operation and the cleanest pool possible.
Add a leaf canister to your Hayward pool cleaner so debris does not collect in your pump basket. The leaf canister fits between 2 sections of the pool cleaners hose, debris is now collected in the leaf canister rather than your pump basket.
Q: What is the difference between the Hayward Pool Vac and the Hayward Navigator?
A: The only difference between the Pool Vac and the Navigator is the shape of the head of the cleaner. The head of the Navigator is square or flat and the Pool Vac is more rounded. Both cleaners use the exact same internal compnents and the same hose, so if you ever need to replace parts in the future the parts for both cleaners would be the same. Some people say the rounded design on the Pool Vac performs a little better in the corners of the pool.

Are there any Hayward mfg Rebates available on any of the cleaners you sell?
Reply
Hi James, yes there are a few cleaners that currently offer rebates through Hayward under their listed terms. Please see Haywards rebate center to review the models and terms for qualifying models.

Do you sell the genuine factory supplied hose replacement? I had developed pin holes in my original hose due to age (probably 10+ years old) and bought a universal replacement. The universal replacement does not float as well, is stiff and has developed a coil which can not be un-done which has rendered the cleaner useless. I would dearly like to get the genuine factory hose for my Nav Pro to restore it's operation.

925ADC won't move anymore wing won't flip up/down---please advise!

suction cleaners like the Hayward Pool Vac are sensitive to changes in flow rate. A few of the top causes for a dip in pump suction are the skimmer basket, pump strainer, and filter need cleaning; skimmer vac plate is not sealing; pump hoses have pinhole leaks that pull in air.

What is the difference between the 925ADC and W3925ADC?
Thank you.

Hi, Frank. The units are identical, however, the W3925ADC models are specifically for online retailers. This will let Hayward know if you purchased your unit online or at a retail store.

Cleaner keeps getting stuck in corners and stays there. Seems like it no longer will turn.

Hi. They are several things that you can do to try to resolve this issue. They're listed on page 17 of the Hayward Navigator Pro/XL Owner's Manual.

Will this work in a fiberglass pool?
THank you!
Reply
Hello, I would recommend going with the Hayward Pool Vac XL Vinyl/Fiberglass Cleaner. This is ready to be used for your fiberglass pool right out of the box. The Navigator that you are referencing will require these pod shoes in order to be used in your fiberglass pool.

He will only go in a circle. Do the drive feet wear out and if so can they be replaced
Reply
These model cleaners running in circles can be caused by a number of issues such as, worn shoes/feet, worn pods, a bad gear box, worn a-frame bearings or even simply being clogged. Here is the parts diagram that you can see all of the replacement parts including those feet. Also here is a general guide for how to service the inside of a Hayward Navigator Suction Cleaner. If you do not have any luck then I would advise having a technician physically inspect the cleaner.

why does my vavigator/ get stuck in corner
Reply
There are a number of possible reasons why the cleaner would get stuck in a corner. It could be shoes, pods, suction issue or even the gear box is clogged or bad. I would advise having a local technician inspect the unit for it does have many moving parts.

is the navigator pro designed for use on tiled pools and is this an Australian web site
Reply
Yes the navigator pro can work on the tile, would recommend one that has a brush, but the navigator pro will vacuum the tile. And this is a United States company but we do ship to Australia.

what is the difference between the 925
and the 2025
Reply
The 925ADC model is the Navigator and the 2025ADC is the Pool Vac XL . They both function exactly the same, contain the same hoses, and are almost identical. The only noticeable difference is shell of the cleaner.

Does it climb the walls and clean them?
Reply
The cleaner has the ability to climb the walls and clean them, but this is really dependent if you are getting good suction from your pump. If you are getting good suction the cleaner will go up the walls if your suction is poor then the clean may not go as high up on the walls.

Hello I just bought a navigator pro ..what do I need to mail in order to get the rebate ?? The saler says that there something in the box that I need to mail ..what it is?
Reply
You will need 3 things to receive your rebate: 1) The filled out rebate form from online or the retailer. 2) a copy of the sales receipt. and 3) The original warranty form. The warranty form is inside the instruction manual. It will need to be cut out, filled out and sent in. All three components will need to be mailed to the address listed on the rebate form.

What do you do when the navigator stops moving?
Reply
Hi Tom, You can try cleaning out your filter. If that does not work you can inspect the cleaner to see if something is stuck in the unit preventing it from moving. If there is nothing in the cleaner then you can take it to you local pool supply store to have it checked out. You can also use the Hayward Navigator Pro, Pool Vac XL Navigator, Pool Vac Ultra Troubleshooting Guide to diagnose what is wrong with your cleaner.

What is the difference between a Hayward Pool Vac Classic and the Navigator Pro model?
Reply
Simply put the Hayward Pool Vac Classic is an older model and only available for concrete pools while the Navigator Pro is available for vinyl, fiberglass and concrete. Other than the shape of the units all the internal mechanisms are the same.

I bought a Arneson Pool Vac (aka Hayward Pool Vac Classic) in April 1992. In 2016. I bought a new Hayward Navigator V Flex pool vac. and I put the 1992 vac in a box in the garage. A month ago the 2016 model started slowing down so I pulled the cover off to see the plastic around the propeller axle had worn out and the propeller had shifted and wore a hole in the vac housing. I then pulled the 1992 model out of the garage and hooked it back up and after almost 28 years it is still running great,

Pros: Works pretty well
Cons: Only last 3-4 years
Our last 2 Hayward Nav. lasted around 4 years. Our pool guy had hoped I'd authorize a rebuild for $300 ... but, even with his hard sell I laughed. A brand new unit for $299 with 2 yr. warranty, why rebuild ??
