Part # W560
Dimensions 13" L x 7.5" W x 7.5" D
For pools with heavy debris, Hayward leaf canisters are available. The large capacity canisters trap leaves and other large debris before they reach the pool's pump and filter system. The superior design allows the water to bypass the debris and maintain proper flow to the pump. The lexan see-thru construction allows you to immediately know when emptying is necessary.
This leaf canister plugs directly into the hose system of the Hayward Pool Vac Ultra and Hayward Navigator Pool Cleaners. It is simple to install and will save you time that was once spent cleaning your swimming pool. This is a must have if you own a Hayward Navigator or Hayward Pool Vac Ultra.

my pool has side3 input for the skimmer line. Do I put the canister on the first section of pipe?
Reply
Hi. This Leaf Canister has to be installed between the two sections of hoses closest to the skimmer.

If I have 20 foot 1.25” hose connected to my filter what can I use to make the connection? I would buy a second hose to connect to the vac head, then place this between both hoses? Can you recommend any part numbers?

Can this be used with the Zodiac MX8 Elite?
Thanks.

The W560 will not work with the Zodiac MX8. Part number W26705 would be the correct leaf canister for the MX8.

Do these canister have to attached to a robot vaccum system via the skimmer or side suction? Or can they be attached in line with a manual vaccum head attached to a pole? If yes, then what type if any fittings are needed to complete the conections between the two hose ends and the canister?
Reply
That leaf canister fit in between the standard vacuum hoses so you would be able to use it on a manual vac, suction-side, or pressure side cleaner, robotic cleaner use their own filter system.

I cannot separate the canister from the cap to remove the strainer. Does it unscrew or does it pull apart. I was able to remove the clamp that holds the cap in place, but can't budge the clear plastic dome. What is the trick to separating the dome from the cap?
Reply
After you unscrew the ring you will be able to pull the cap off. It might be on there tight because of the pressure so you will have to use a little muscle.

Does this leaf canister work well for long Scotch pine needles?
Reply
Hello, This canister is designed for collecting leaves and larger debris before it gets to the pump basket. The holes are open enough to allow the occasional pine needle through. We have no specific information available to determine the effectiveness of this canister in relation to pine needles, but from a personal opinion viewpoint, you are adding another line of defense which is better than nothing.

DO NOT! Vacuum your pool without this canister. I was too lazy to hookup this canister one day and a small rock got wedged in the PVC between skimmer and pump while vacuuming. It took me 3 miserable hours to get it cleared. I will not vacuum my pool without this canister.

I am so glad that I chose the Standard Leaf Canister. I have two palm trees in my back yard that drop pesky leaves into the pool. With the leaf canister, my pool vacuum can clear up the debris. That saves me time and trouble I used to spend fishing leaves out of the pool with a net!
