HAYWARD NAVIGATOR PRO
The all new Hayward Navigator Pro introduces Exclusive SmartDrive® technology which makes the Navigator Pro faster and more efficient than any random style pool cleaner. Navigator Pro moves in a predetermined series of right and left turns to systematically provide more thorough coverage of your pool's surfaces. It is the smart choice for all types of in-ground pools. Discriminating pool owners will value Navigator Pro's ability to clean their pool in an intelligent manner. Compared to other suction cleaners, Navigator Pro's technology allows for a silent operation. You can enjoy a pleasant and peaceful pool environment even when the Navigator Pro is hard at work.
Navigator Pro gives you easy, trouble-free operation. And because it's powered by your existing filtration system, you don't have the expense of an energy-consuming booster pump. You won't waste time emptying or replacing debris bags. Getting that sparkling clean pool is easy and effortless. When you install your new Navigator Pro as part of the Totally Hayward® System, you get the assurance of knowing you have a complete system, designed to work together for the best automatic operation and the cleanest pool possible.
Add a leaf canister to your Hayward pool cleaner so debris does not collect in your pump basket. The leaf canister fits between 2 sections of the pool cleaners hose, debris is now collected in the leaf canister rather than your pump basket.
Q: What is the difference between the Hayward Pool Vac and the Hayward Navigator?
A: The only difference between the Pool Vac and the Navigator is the shape of the head of the cleaner. The head of the Navigator is square or flat and the Pool Vac is more rounded. Both cleaners use the exact same internal compnents and the same hose, so if you ever need to replace parts in the future the parts for both cleaners would be the same. Some people say the rounded design on the Pool Vac performs a little better in the corners of the pool.

We have a 20' x 40' vinyl pool that goes to 8'. Does this cleaner go up the walls? Will it have any problems transitioning to the shallow end or covering the whole area of the pool? Thank you.
Reply
Beth, The only cleaners that will climb the wall would be robotic cleaners. The Navigator may have trouble climbing back towards the shallow end depending on the angle of the slope and the amount of suction the cleaner has.

What is the main difference between the Navigator Pro and the Hayward BLU?

No difference, the navigator just has the $100 rebate so really when it's all done, they're the same price and have the exact same replacement parts.

Can this cleaner be used in a gunite pool? Also, does the leaf attachment cause the suction process to not be as strong?
Thank you.

I would not recommend this cleaner for a vinyl pool. I would recommend the Hayward Navigator Pro Concrete Cleaner - 925ADC as the alternative. The leaf catcher does not change the amount of suction as long as the leaves are removed when the catcher becomes full.

There are a number of reasons that could cause this from the pods, a frames, wheel bearings and even equipment issues. I would advise you to take the cleaner to a local retailer to inspect the unit.

Can I use this in a 24x52 Wilbar heritage above ground pool?

Hi Lara, This cleaner is not suitable for above ground pools. Hayward has Wanda the Whale, Diver Dave and the Aquabug that's for above ground pools.
