NEW Hayward Universal H-Series Low NOx heater combines industry-leading hydraulic performance; environmentally responsible low NOx emissions and a standard cupro nickel heat exchanger with a low profile appearance, lighter weight design, independent left or right side electric, water and gas connections plus 2" x 2 1/2" CPVC union connections to provide the ultimate installation flexibility for new or existing equipment pads.
It also includes a forced draft system that constantly moves air through the combustion chamber at a precise flow rate. As a result, all outside weather variables that can affect the heating performance, such as wind conditions, are eliminated - without having to install a high-wind stack.
NOTE: The Hayward Universal H-Series heaters meet the NOx Emission standards set by the California South Coast Quality Air Management Commission for 2001 and the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission Code.

I want to install the Hayward Lownox heater on my pool but I live in the mountains at 3,000 foot elevation; do I need to buy a special high elevation heater?

Hello George, The Hayward Universal Low Nox are self adjusting up to 10,000 feet of elevation. Any installation above 2,000 feet will require a special restriction plate to be installed. Luckily, that plate comes standard with every heater so no need to purchase it separately.

Hi Hugo, The main determining factors would be do you need Natural Gas or Propane? How many gallons is your spa? Are you replacing a heater? Or is this a new heater? If replacing a heater what size gas line do you currently have? How quickly would you like to raise the heater 30 degrees? If I purchase a propane heater now can it be converted to natural gas at a later date?

Yes this heater can be converted to Natural gas by using the Hayward Conversion Kit (fdxlcnk0002) LP to Natural Gas.

why is my heater reading LO AND ITS NOT RUNNING

According to Hayward, the "LO" error code is referring to a Limit String Open Error." Hayward's explanation for the error, taken from the owner's manual: If the limit string opens the heater shuts down and goes into lockout. Automatic restart is 2 minutes after the error condition is corrected and the limit string closes. Contact a licensed technician to inspect and repair your unit

I love this heater it works great and has a nice low tone to it when its running. The shipping was great, fast shipping and great driver that delivered it to my house. It was very easy to install. I have a small in ground pool in my house about 5000 gallons of water and it was able to raise the temperature 4 degrees an hour while it was 30 degree out side. I am very pleased with my new Hayward 150,000 BTU heater.

Great Heater!!!! I love this unit it works great and sounds great running. If you need to replace an old heater you really need to give this one a good look over. It heats my pool a little bit more then 4 degrees an hour in 30 degree weather. I have a in ground pool about 5000 gallons in my house. I am completely happy with my new heater and highly recommend it.
