Hayward ColorLogic Pool Lights

Nothing makes water more vibrant than light and color. But what separates ColorLogic 4.0 from any other lighting system is its ability to take light and color to a whole new level. ColorLogic 4.0 starts with five fixed colors that can be enhanced with seven color-changing shows. Integrate it with Pro Logic's Network Module, and you get four additional shows with adjustable speed, motion and brightness control and a brilliant spectrum of 101 adjustable colors. It is a color palette and synchronization that is as unequaled as it is inspiring.

LED technology makes ColorLogic 4.0 the brightest and most responsive lighting system ever, so your pool comes alive. LEDs are extremely efficient and can save up to 79% on energy costs when compared to traditional pool lighting. The streamlined, sealed units are watertight and easy to install. There are no bulbs to change, no color wheels, and no moving parts for noiseless and service-free operation.

I installed the SP0527 into a SP0607U niche and the bottom just seems to flop around with a lot of play. I used the included brass spacer, any idea what the problem is or if that’s normal.

. MOUNT THE LIGHT FIXTURE Coil up the extra cord and insert it in the fixture housing (niche) behind the light fixture. To mount the light fixture, insert the fixture into the niche with the mounting screw at the top (12 o'clock position). Place the bottom hooking first (6 o'clock position), then tilt the top of the fixture up and secure it with the mounting screw. Be sure the hook on the bottom catches on the niche. When removing the fixture from the niche, unscrew the mounting screw, tilt the top of the fixture out, and lift it up and out.NOTE: When installing the light into the Hayward SP0607U fixture housing, you must use the brass spacer (included). The mounting screw must passthrough the spacer before threading into the mounting hole in the fixturehousing.

Is the SP0527LED30 salt water rated?

A  Answered on 6/7/2019 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Hi Chris, Yes the SP0527LED30 can be used in a salt pool but it cannot be used in ocean water. Salt swimming pools are normally about 3,500 PPM of salt where ocean water is 35,000 PPM of salt.

Will colorlogic 4.0 led 120v 30ft cord w/plastic face plate fit my starlite series underwater light made by Hayward? If so, I need part numbers for plastic retainer and gasket that seals liner to niche. Does this light come with remote?

A  Answered on 9/6/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, David. The ColorLogic 4.0 Fixture can be used to replace the old Starlite fixture if you have a compatible niche. I will need to know the niche model in order to locate the retainer and gasket.  A remote is not included.

I have a Hayward SP0583L that has burned out. I'd like to replace the housing as it seems to have allowed water leakage. Will this fit my existing niche?

A  Answered on 8/24/2016 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi Darin, Yes, this ColorLogic will fit into your existing niche.

Does this light fit flush against pool wall without cutting a large hole. The light that's in our pool now only has a three quarter inch hole for wiring.

A  Answered on 6/13/2015 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Yvonnda, If you have a large enough niche, the ColorLogic Light 120V 30' Cord w/ White Plastic Face Ring Gen. 4.0 will fit into that niche with back of the light being flush to the wall of the pool. Then you run the cord through the niche to the junction box.

I have a fairly good sized pool, mountain lake shape, 40' x 18' with attached spa. Presently have 500w incandescent in pool at the deep end (8' deep) and a 100w in the attached spa. How well with these ColorLogic bulbs light up my pool compared to my 500watt incandescent?

A  Answered on 5/19/2015 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Hi James, It is difficult to compare brightness when you are comparing the brightness of different colors i.e. red to white. With this being said this light will be pretty close to the same brightness as your 500 Watt incandescent light.

For a color-changing LED light, how do I switch between the different settings with just a standard light switch?

A  Answered on 1/20/2012 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

The LED lights are designed to move to the next programmed setting each time you turn the switch on and off.  This will toggle through the different color settings and shows.

Do i just need the light and my current prologic controller which runs my pool filter and spa etc.. or do i have to have a separate controller for the colorlogic led pool light?

A  Answered on 8/30/2009 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

You can use just the ProLogic to control the ColorLogic light but you will only be using a fraction of the overall control capabilities. To get the complete control capabilities you would need to order the ColorLogic Gen. 4.0 light here along with the ColorLogic Communication Module here using the ColorLogic Communication Module with the ProLogic the ColorLogic lights will display 101 color tones, 16 themed shows, while controlling light brightness, speed and movement.
