Hayward ColorLogic Pool Lights

Nothing makes water more vibrant than light and color. But what separates ColorLogic 4.0 from any other lighting system is its ability to take light and color to a whole new level. ColorLogic 4.0 starts with five fixed colors that can be enhanced with seven color-changing shows. Integrate it with Pro Logic's Network Module, and you get four additional shows with adjustable speed, motion and brightness control and a brilliant spectrum of 101 adjustable colors. It is a color palette and synchronization that is as unequaled as it is inspiring.

LED technology makes ColorLogic 4.0 the brightest and most responsive lighting system ever, so your pool comes alive. LEDs are extremely efficient and can save up to 79% on energy costs when compared to traditional pool lighting. The streamlined, sealed units are watertight and easy to install. There are no bulbs to change, no color wheels, and no moving parts for noiseless and service-free operation.

Do i just need the light and my current prologic controller which runs my pool filter and spa etc.. or do i have to have a separate controller for the colorlogic led pool light?
 Reply

You can use just the ProLogic to control the ColorLogic light but you will only be using a fraction of the overall control capabilities. To get the complete control capabilities you would need to order the ColorLogic Gen. 4.0 light here http://www.inyopools.com/lights_colorlogic.aspx along with the ColorLogic Communication Module here http://www.inyopools.com/Products/02200000040136.htmWhen using the ColorLogic Communication Module with the ProLogic the ColorLogic lights will display 101 color tones, 16 themed shows, while controlling light brightness, speed and movement.

For a color-changing LED light, how do I switch between the different settings with just a standard light switch?
 Reply

A  Answered on 1/20/2012 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

The LED lights are designed to move to the next programmed setting each time you turn the switch on and off.  This will toggle through the different color settings and shows.

I currently have a ColorLogic version 2.5 pool light. Can I install version 4.0 in the same niche?
 Reply

A  Answered on 1/29/2013 by InyoPools Product Specialist Steve M.

Yes,both the 2.5 and 4.0 versions of the Hayward ColorLogic lights will fit in the same niche.  Please note that the two versions will not synchronize with one another.  So if you have second version 2.5 ColorLogic light in your pool or one in your spa, it will not be on the same color rotation as the 4.0.

Original Light Kept Tripping Breaker and Would Not Come On

Written on 1/25/2019 by Guest

Turn power off to light, usually a breaker near the pool or wherever your pool light breaker is.
Open junction box where wires come up through the ground. Take a picture of your connections if unsure how to reconnect.
Disconnect wires.
I connected my fish tape to the end of the old wire I disconnected with electrical tape. Make sure the tape is secure and the wire will not pull off.
Put electrician's lube on the wire that is exposed that you're going to pull through the conduit to the pool. Also, put it on the tape where you connected the fish tape.
Get in the pool and take old light out - it's one screw on the top.
There should be plenty of cord so set old light on the pool deck.
My wife helped me with this part.
One person is in the pool and one person near the junction box.
You may need to pull back and forth until the wire comes through smoothly. It will come through.
Once old wire is pulled through remove fish tape from old wire and discard old light.
Attach new wire to fish tape and lube wire with electricians lube, put a generous amount on the wire you will be pulling through.
Guide the wire back through while your partner is pulling the other end. Be careful and guide it through. Have a pair of goggles so you can dive down and make sure everything looks okay if anything gets stuck.
Pull only the amount you need and coil the rest up in the light housing when pulled through.
Attach wires in the junction box and look at the picture if you're unsure.
Coil wires up in light and attach the screw.
Check all connections again and close junction box.
Turn breaker on and test the light.

Was an easy job, but things can get stuck pulling the wire so take your time.
