Product Description

This is an After-Market replacement Valve by CMP for the Hayward Vari-Flo XL multiport control valve. This valve is made of quality materials and engineered for maximum flow at lower pressure drops will be the choice in multiport valves. It will retrofit any filter that has an SP071113 valve that needs replacement and upgrading. Does not include clamp and o-ring.

This valve features an easy-to-use lever-action handle that lets you "dial" up to six valve/filter functions: filter, backwash, waste, rinse, closed or recirculate. Complete with an integral sight glass that lets you see when the backwashing cycle is completed.

Control Valve Functions

  • Filter - For normal filtering and regular vacuuming
  • Backwash - For cleaning filter sand bed of accumulated debris
  • Rinse - Use after completing backwash cycle to ensure all dirty water is rinsed out of the filter to waste
  • Waste - By-passes the filter for draining or lowering pool water level and for vacuuming heavy debris directly to waste line.
  • Recirculate - Water is recirculated through the valve by-passing the filter
  • Closed - Shuts off the flow from the pump to the filter
  • Winter - For winterizing (SP0714T only)
  • 1 year warranty

* This valve is used with the Hayward Pro Series Top-Mount Sand Filters.

How do I bleed air for a top mounted Hayward multiport valve? They have no air bleeder valve.

Hayward TOP mounted multiport valves do not require an air bleeder valve. They self purge air in the system through the return lines.

Can we get this valve (Hayward Var-flow sp071621) to replace ours. The old conections are straight up and down, will this pose a problem ?

Hi Jill, If you can provide us with the manufacturer and model of the filter you have we can confirm if the valve will replace the one that you have.

I have an Hayward Vari-flo xl Valve (75 pgm/284 lpm) filter and I have a leak at the pressure gauge. Do I have to have a specific pressure gauge or will any work? I guess that's my problem since its leaking from it

Hi, The standard 1/4" NPT Back Mount (102D-204D) or Bottom Mount (101D-204D) pressure gauge can be used with this valve.

Can I use this valve to replace an SP0714T with 1.5" fittings. Our pump is 2" and I'd like to avoid the reduction if possible.

Hello Richard, Yes you can swap the SP0714T to the SP071621, but the questions would be are you using adaptors to fit into your 2" lines from your SP0714T? Just make sure you have 2" all the way around to make sure this will work for you.
