This Portable Outdoor Timer is specially designed to control the filter pump of a portable pool or spa. They can also be used to turn ON and OFF outdoor decorations, engine block heaters and other appliances - indoors or outdoors. Designed for 120V pumps up to 15 amps with a standard 3 prong plug configuration. PLEASE NOTE: This timer does not have GFCI. If you need a timer with GFCI, please see the Intermatic P1161.

I have a 1 1/2 HP Hayward filter, I need a timer box that I can connect to it. Will this handle it or do you have another timer that might?

How dose this run your pump?

This timer is designed to operate an above ground pool pump which has standard 3 prong plug and is 1 HP or less. The timer plugs into a wall outlet and then the pump plugs into the timer, you set when the pump turns on and off through the timer dial on the front of the timer.

How does the pump connect to the timer? does it plug in or does it have to be wired?

Cons: Mounting holes could be designed better
I installed this on my Hayward AG pump/filter as the only timer choices on the hayward pump timer were 24,18,12 and 6 hours. 6 hours was too short and 12 was too long. This timer will start and stop the pump whenever you want it to. It is easy to install, but the mounting holes could be designed a little better. It has been working flawlessly all summer.

This timer really helped cut our electric bill. Our pool filter is pretty efficient so we only run it between 10am and 4pm. Except for the hottest days, this was sufficient to keep the pool clear and skimmed. We were really happy with this product.
