if this ring was bad would this stop it from moving

Hi, Pat. Yes, I have had a worn Kreepy Krauly Inground Pleated Seal 2000 to present - K12896 prevent the cleaner from moving. Here are some other possible solutions listed from the owners manual. Check to be sure that the main drain and all suction lines are closed, except for the suction line to which the cleaner is attached. Check for debris in the filter or pump basket. Check for debris in cleaner flapper. Debris may prevent flapper movement or restrict flow. See page 8 for instructions. Pool pump and filter system may be too small (incapable of providing 25 gallons per minute water flow). Consult your pool professional.

Hi, Gerry. I was not able to locate that part number. However, this Pleated Seal will fit units manufactured from 2000 to present.
