Who ever thought doing something good for the environment would also save you money? It's true! A Raypak heat pump is built with the latest eco-friendly R410A refrigerant that operates more efficiently than R-22. But the most amazing aspect of a heat pump pool heater is its operating efficiency compared to gas heaters. A heat pump operates at 5 to 6 times the efficiency of a standard gas, oil or electric pool heater. If you live in an area where your natural or propane gas costs have out-paced your electricity costs, the savings can be big. The chart illustrates just how much money can save using average energy cost data COP 5.6/5.3. 016033 R8450ti-E 140 BTU is the new replacement for the R8350TI-E.

When does the warranty period begin for the RayPak heat pumps? Date of purchase? Manufacture date? Thanks!
Hi, John. The warranty period begins on the date of installation or date of purchase.
One more question, can I install this heat pump, the pool pump and a salt water generator on a 60 AMP (240 volt) line?
Hi Johnny, You will need a dedicated 50 amp breaker for the heat pump, and most likely you can wire the pump and salt system on to the same breaker and that would be a 30 amp breaker.
I have a 40,000 gallon pool. Can this heat pump heat it up to about ~80 degrees?
Hi Johnny, As long as you are in a somewhat of a mild location temperature wise than this heat pump would be able to maintain this temperature from May - September.
In the description section it says "minimum ampacity" of 42, recommended 60. What does that minimum refer to? I have a 50 amp line now.
Minimum ampacity is 42 Amps, next breaker size is 50 Amps, thats how l wired mine also w #6 Wire! And GFi Breaker. All works perfect!
I have a 30000 gallon pool is this big enough for my pool
Hi. This unit can heat a 30K gallon pool. I would recommend using a solar cover to retain as much heat as possible.
RE: Distance to Skimmers. The closest skimmer is 36 ft. and the other is 58 ft.
I received your distances, how can I help you?
My pool is 36,000 gallons and I currently have a 400,000 BTU Raypak propane heater. I can check the dimensions and see if this Heat Pump is sufficient for the pool. You mentioned that this only heats the water when the pool pump is on (which makes sense). I have a variable speed pool pump, does my pool pump have to be running at max speed...3450, to run this heat pump? Under normal use, I run the pool pump at 2650, would this heat pump operate at that setting?
Do you have the distance from your pump to your skimmers so I can calculate the flow rate to see if that flow rate will be adequate for that heat pump?
Hi I have a Raypak RP 2100 gas heater which I want to replace with Raypak Standard 133K BTU Digital Heat Pump. My question is the replacement be good enough size. Can I use the same electrical wiring as the RP2100 and How much space do I need for the heat pump, the space available is 4x4 would that be enough space.
Hi, This is the largest heat pump Raypak has. It's large enough fo heat most residential pools but to be sure we'll need the surface area of your pool. This unit requires a dedicated 60 amp 230 volt breaker so the electrical would haveto be upgraded. The unit can be placed on a 4'x4' pad but installation requirements can be found on page 7 & 8 of the Raypak Heat Pump Owner & Installation Manual.
What is a heat pump for a pool, and what do you need to install it? A gas line would be a to long of a lay What about a propane pump, or a electric heater? Need help, it is for my daughter and three grand kids . THANKS
I would recommend a heat pump. It is electric and is going to be the most cost efficient. Heat pump will initially take a day or two to heat up but once it is heated the heat pump regulates the temperature that you have it set at and will only turn on when it drops below that temperature and only when the pool pump is circulating. I can help you select the correct size, I just need to know how many gallons the pool is, the distance from the pool pump to the skimmers, and what state you are located in.
What is the warranty on the R8350 Ti-E & the R 8350 Ti-E-HC? There seems to be a 20 to 25% difference in price. What am I getting for the premium??
Hello Dave- The warranty information can be found by clicking here. In short it is 2 years parts and labor, 7 years on parts, and the titanium component of the heat exchanger is warrantied for 10 years (if installed by a professional pool installer). The price difference for the R8350Ti-E-HC is because that is a Heat and Cool model, not just a heat pump like the R8350TI-E.
Does the heat pump have heating and cooling options?
Hello Steve- The Raypak Standard 133K BTU Digital Heat Pump - 013331 R8350TI-E is heat only. The model in that size that would is the Raypak Standard 133K BTU Digital Heat Pump W/ Chiller - 013336 R8350TI-E-HC.
Hello, can you please tell me the shipping weight of a Rheem M8350Ti ?
Hello Ray, the R8350ti-E M8350ti-E shipping weight is 387 LBS.
I am replacing my M8350Ti-E Rheem pool heat pump and was wondering which would be best for my 17,000 gal pool. Should I go with the Raypak R 8350Ti-E or the R6350 Ti-E. I live in Sebring Fl.
Hello Dan,R8350TI-E Raypak Standard 133K BTU Digital Heat Pump is a better choice more btus will heat your pool faster.
Is this heat pump compatable with the Pentair Easy Touch control panel. I would like to be able to use remote from the house to control heating of pool. It looks like a great unit at a good price, but I am worried about it being integrated into the system. The Pentair 140 model looks great as well and could be integrated seamlessly, but it comes at a heftier price tag. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Hello Max- The Raypak Standard 133K BTU Digital Heat Pump - 013331 R8350TI-E is compatible with the Pentair easy touch as along as you have a communication cable.
We have a 135,000 gal community pool with (2) Raypak Model C-R406A-EN-X ASME natural gas heaters. If it is time to replace them, could we use (2) heat pump heaters and if yes, which model would you recommend? We keep the pool at 82 degrees. It's located in Lafayette CA where the avg daily temp during the coldest swimming month is 62 and the warmest is 72 degrees. A solar cover is not feasible. Your advice is most welcome.
I would stick with the heaters. You would literally have to run those heat pumps non-stop for a pool that size. For a pool that size you would need 3-4 heat pumps to maintain that temperature. I would stay with the two heaters or go with one heater that will be able to handle the whole pool. That would be the Power Max, model number PM0750NACC2PXN or PM1000NACC2PXN. Either of these models will be the most efficient way to heat that size of pool.
my pool is 50.000 gal with spa wich is the best heat pum for it.? thanks
I personally would go with the RayPak and that would be the biggest one for RayPak. For a 50,000 gallon pool I'd recommend pairing it up with a solar blanket.
What are the dimensions of the cabinet for the R8350ti. Can't seem to find this anywhere. Also would this size be good for a 24000 gallon inground. Thanks in advance
Hi Randy, Yes this would be a good sized unit for a 24,000 gallon inground pool. Here are the Dimensions for the Raypak R8350TI-E
will the delivery person place this unit at its final location? it's about 100 feet from the driveway
Hello Chris, The delivery service will deliver the heat pump to the curbside. You would need to arrange with the delivery service to have the Heat Pump moved to the final location when scheduling the delivery. They may charge an additional fee for transporting the heat pump and payment would be arranged through that specific carrier, not related with InyoPools.
Hi, I am considering between the RS8350ti-E-QT Vs RS8350ti-E. Can you tell me the DB rating on both units. I read some place that e-qT is 59DB and need to confirm both and any other difference between the 2 besides 125K VS 133K output. Thanks
Hi, The RS8350ti-E-QT operates at a dB of 59, the dB rating is not listed for the RS8350ti-E but it will be higher than 59.
Under the "Warrenty Exclusions" section what does the statement "This limited Warrenty does NOT apply" Is there a Warrenty if so what is it?
Bob- Where it says "Warranty Exclusions" and then goes on to say "This Limited Warranty Does NOT Apply" it then goes on and lists reasons that would void the warranty or are not covered under warranty. The warranty on this heat pump, per Raypak, is as follow: If the Heater is installed in a single-family residential dwelling, the Applicable Warranty Periods are: two (2) years for labor and seven (7) years for parts, with no labor coverage in the third through seventh years. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the titanium tube component of the titanium heat exchanger is warranted for 10 years from the Effective Date, with no labor coverage in the third through tenth years. If the Heater is installed anywhere other than a single-family residential dwelling, the Applicable Warranty Period for the Heater and its parts is limited to only one (1) year, parts and labor.
What is the difference between Raypack M8350ti-E-HC and M8350ti-E .
Val, The difference between the R8350TI-E-HC Raypak Standard 133K BTU Digital Heat Pump W/ Chiller and the R8350TI-E Raypak Standard 133K BTU Digital Heat Pump is that the R8350TI-E-HC has a chiller so it can cool the pool in the warmer months whereas the R8350TI is just a heater.
Hi, does this model have a reversing valve for power defrost? Thanks
Hello, Will. The Raypack R8350TI-E does not have a reversing valve for power defrost. If offers Power Frost that Allows the heat pump to operate in colder weather by keeping the heat exchanger tubes from developing frost. When the air temp drops below about 45F, the unit will shut down because there isn't enough heat in the air to allow for productive operation. Raypak does offer model PS9350ti with Rapid Defrost. Areas that are subject to lower ambient temperatures have a tendency to cause ice to build up on a heat pump's condensing coil. The Professional heat pump uses a patented refrigerant management system to rapidly defrost the heater. (The PS9350ti) currently is a Special Order item.
Can the chiller option be added to this heat pump after installation? Thanks, R Corley
Unfortunately, there is no way to " Add-on " the chiller aspect to this heat pump. They are either heat pumps OR heat / cool pumps.
(5 out of 5 stars) Very Nice Pool Heater
Reviewed By: Barry A. from Cincinnati, OH ()
Pros: Heats pool quicker than expected
Cons: None so far
Heats my pool better than I expected, I was hesitant to buy a heat pump, but I am very happy with the results. Too soon to know the cost, but it doesn't run all the time.
(4 out of 5 stars) Heat Pump really works
Reviewed By: Therese D. from McLean, VA ()
Pros: Water is warmer with the heat pump
Cons: Do not know at this moment
We hired swimming pool technicians to install the heat pump late April in DC area and it heated up our pool from 62 F to low 70 in 3/4 days in May. There was lots of fun for kids to swim in warmer water during the month May. The heat pumps heated up our spa to 100 F. We really enjoyed sitting in the hot tub every night. It increased our electricity bill by about $250 to $300 in the month May. It worked as described. I do not give it a 5-star at this moment because I do not know how reliable it will be in the coming years.
