My Hayward c250 spa filter indicates I need a c-250-RE filter. Yours is cx250-RE what is the "x" in your number? Is I the same as c-250-RE?

This would be the correct replacement cartridge for your C250 Spa filter. Offer the years Hayward has used this part # with and without the "X".

The sand filter just doesn't seem to clean as it used to. Purchased a new cartridge filter that cleans down to about 10 microns or so where the sand filter was at about 40 microns. Purchased 1 1/2" pvc pipe a couple of union's 2 ball valves installed the plumbing and I have a filtering system that works great.
Easy to remove cartridge spray it off when dirty replace it in the filter and ready to go. No more hauling heavy sand bags at the start of each season (Michigan) and emptying at the end of the season. Turn off the ball valves remove the cartridge and store for the winter.
