(STAIN ID KIT) is the first step in performing a successful Jack’s Magic stain removal. The Stain ID Kit is designed to take the guesswork out of removing swimming pool stains. One of the 4 tests will identify what will best remove a swimming pool stain, saving both time and money. we are the caretakers of an apartment that has a 25 meter lap pool, there is some staining, bird dropping, and other stains not sure what and a 500mm approx stain caused buy some chemicals, not sure what.
the pool is concrete, with a rough surface blue coating and has been in for some 10years .
plse advise will we need to empty and re surface ?
Hi, Ray. Giving the age of the pool surface, re-surfacing in highly recommend.
Have a few orange stains on plaster. They are not organic - probably metallic of some sort. Will the kit help and, if so, how does it do it?
Shane, The stain id kit will help identify the type of stain. It will not remove stains.
we treat it and it comes back...we know it's iron but we can't get it to go away...we bought Ascorbic Acid Powder but it only helps for a few days and then returns
Jacks is good occasionally but if you do it too much it'll damage the surface of your pool. I'd recommend Metal Free by Natural Chemistry. A lot less harsh and it's safe to swim in. It will eliminate the metals in the water before the stains occur.
I have a Nature 2 System (or mineralization) and I have stains in my pool. What should I do?
First you should do The Stain ID Kit to determine whats needed to remove the stains. Once youve determined what will work, you will need to remove the Nature 2 System while doing the treatment.
My stain is in the deep end of the pool or on the wall. Can I still use the ID kit?
There are a few different ways to use the kit. You can sprinkle a small amount of each packet into the water. As the product dissolves it becomes a solution that is heavier than the water. The solution will then sink to the bottom and should begin to react with the stain. Another method is to put a small amount of the test into a sock, attach it to your vac pole and hold it directly over the stained area.

Cons: the test is cheap, the treatments are expensive.
You need this product to identify your stain problem. Iron, copper and calcium scales need different procedures. You might also look at troblefreepool for ascorbic acid or citric acid directions. Jacks is the best, although not a cheap solution.
