Which model number air Relief Manual Valve Assembly (98209800)
What is your filter model?
I just ordered one of these assemblies tonight from you. My pressure relief valve is leaking at the base where it screws into the filter top. It looks like it has a crack in the relief valve body at the threads. My question is: what is the plastic clamp used for and where does it go? I don't see that clamp anywhere on my filter (Pentair Clean and Clear model 160317).
Hello Richard- The clamp affixes to the small white air bleed sock on the top of the manifold.
Hi will this valve work with a Pentair 2000 series?
Hi, Beth. This Air Relief Manual Valve Assembly will not work with the Pentair 2000 Series filter. You can view the parts needed via the Purex 2000 Series Stainless DE Parts page.

Hi ED, This Air Relief Assembly will fit onto the American Products 582090 filter.
the pressure gauge broke but I only need the bottom black part not the actual gauge is that part sold separately?

Does the Air relief manual valve assembly come with a O-ring ?
Hello Jeff, yes the air relief valve stem o-ring does come with the assembly.
My relief valve is dripping. I have a Purex-Triton Filter model #CC100.. Design flow=100 g.p.m. and 6.5 psi residential. There is a pin number on the tank housing =178555..Do I need to purchase the entire relief valve OR the very small "O" rings inside the valve? I have had this unit since 2000. I do not know if this assembly 998209800 is the correct fit But it sure looks like it! Thanks
Hi Charlie, This would be the correct air relief for the Purex-Triton Clean & Clear CC100 filter. For the CC100 filter I do not show where the small o-ring is sold separately so I would suggest the entire air relief.
where do I get just the two O-rings on the bottom of the relief valve?
Fred, The o-ring that goes on the bottom of this air relief assembly is P/N 57006800.
Can I install this myself?
The Air Relief Assembly can be installed by a homeowner. It requires that you unthread the old one, wrap some teflon tape around the threads of the new valve, and thread it back into place.
Does this item include the pressure gauge?
Yes it does.
(3 out of 5 stars) Replacement for Pentair Pool Filter Relief Valve
Reviewed By: DynaWg from Pleasanton, CA ()
Pros: Quick and easy to install
Cons: Leaks if closed tightly
This is a repalcement the original valve (<4 yrs. old)that eventually began leaking do to a crack at the base where the gauge was threaded. This product was easy to replace, reasonably priced and arrived in a timely manner from INYO. The only problem with this particular valve is that if twisted closed too tightly leaked. I found that you don't need to twist it closed too tightly. Just twist until until it stops (you may need to back off just a little) to ensure it is closed all the way. We will see how long this part lasts.
(5 out of 5 stars) Upgrade to my old Relief Valve and Pressure Gauge
Reviewed By: Adam O. from Houston, TX ()
Pros: Easy to install, clear reading on the pressure gauge
The old equipment that I inherited was, well, old and useless. I needed an upgrade and these parts have exceeded my expectations.
(3 out of 5 stars) Tricky installation

Very tricky to screw on the presure gauge to the relief valve assembly. It kept on screwing on crooked and then leaking a lot after turning on the pump. Only after using a lot of pressure while screwing it on could I get it straight. It still leaks a bit, but will probably stop after a while. I should have returned it. Are they all that way or was this one defective?
