I just had my swimming pool water tested and I was told that my calcium level is really high. What chemical would I use to lower it?

If the calcium level is too high, the only way to lower it would be to partially drain and refill the swimming pool.

The calcium level in a swimming pool should be 200-400 parts per million.

How do I add the Calcium Hardness to my pool?
 Reply

A  Answered on 9/2/2014 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

When adding our product P37025DE be sure to dissolve it in a bucket of water first before adding it to the pool. Be sure not to add any other chemicals for the time being and add no more than 10lbs per 10,000 gallons of pool water aswell. Follow the instructions if unsure about it.  Be advised this chemical does heat up when mixing with water.

Calcium hardness of my inground pool was very low.

I trust the products sold by INYOPOOLS, so I just follow the instructions provided, and my pool water balances properly. I have never had a problem with parts or chemicals purchased at INYOURPOOLS. They often have parts that I can't find anywhere else.

My whole house and pool is on a water treatment plant, including a hard water treatment station. Therefore I must add Calcium Hardness Increaser.

The calcium Hardness Increaser was super easy to ad to the pool. This is necessary from time to time to bring my soft pool water up to recommended calcium levels.

New Pool Startup

Written on 5/27/2019 by Guest

After years stained, flaking plaster in our old pool we invested in a complete renovation. I had our pool contractor remove the old cracking/sinking concrete decking. Then for the next 2 weeks I dug up and replaced all the plumbing and electrical.

After “my part” was done the plaster contractor repaired all new deck and chipped and replastered our pool. Project turned out beautiful... like new.

But to the review .. in researching new plaster startup I found some interesting details of the importance of proper levels of calcium. City water is low in calcium and if left unattended the new water will “pull” calcium from the new plaster which could reduce life of plaster.

The “calcium up” product I bought here shipped quick, was a great value when compared to local pool stores. Was easy to apply and was fast dissolving .. very satisfied.

An empty bucket to mix with water and pour around the pool.

I couldn't seem to add enough chlorone and the PH was way too high.

I had no idea what balancing pool water was about until I went to pool school. According to the table I needed to add 25 lbs. I started slowly adding and ended up using all 25 and all the values came into range. No miracle just a great product.

Got the best price from Inyo pools; added 2 buckets (50) lbs (the recommended amount on side of bucket) to pool water; after 48 hours, pool water tested 350 ppm calcium hardness.
