What is the difference between the Fiberstars 2004 and 6004 illuminators?

The 2004 model has a strand capacity of 400 while the 6004 will hold 450 fiber optic strands.  The 6004 has a metal halide lamp that is rated at an average of 6000 hours.  The quartz-halogen lamp inside the 2004 is rated at 400-700 hours average.  The 6004 model is more energy efficient than the 2004 and consumes less power.

The Fiberstars FS3C illuminator has been discontinued but may be replaced by the Fiberstars 2004 illuminator or the Fiberstars 6004 iluminator Thanks for the great question.

Is this unit a like replacement for the old FS5 Fiberstars unit. Are the connections identical?

Hi, Paul. The 2004 Illuminator can be used to replace the FS5 unit. You will have to port the cable to the new illuminator using the connections included with the 2004 unit.

I have an SV150T that is not working. Is this unit a suitable replacement and can I directly use the existing fibers/connectors with this Fiberstars unit?

Hi, Brian. The Fiberstars Illuminator -2004 can be used as a replacement for the SV150T. You can also use your existing cables but use the port assembly that is included.

In 1999 we installed two FIBERworks (P/N 99293100) light generators to add fiber optic lighting to a pool and waterfall we put in. It worked great and we've been able to keep in running until recently. It's now time to replace those old light generators. The documentation I've found says that they installed AmerGlow Cabling from between the pool / waterfall and the generators. I'm trying to find out if there are any light generators that will work with what I have in the pool now.

I need to replace my entire Fiberstar Luminaire. I called and spoke with an associate, and he indicated you had the model 2004. I read the specs on-line, but it said it was a 2.0 amp unit. Mine is a 2.5 amp unit. Is this an issue? Mine is a Model 2004; No. V 67804; 2.5 amp; 250 V, Slow-blow; Serial 600102297. I just want to be absolutely sure yours is the correct replacement. Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you soon!
