The light source is positioned well away from your pool and no electricity and virtually no heat is transferred through fibers. We offer synchronized fiber optic units for multiple light installations. We also have the ability to combine our exclusive line of fiber optics with our new Jazz light. Run the two systems independently for a dramatic, multi-colored effect or synchronize them to enjoy the full ambiance of each color. The color wheel inside the 6004 illuminator features four colors: blue, green, magenta and white.
Hi Adam Y, Thanks for the quick response. The new lamp came installed in a new metal housing assembly. I just connected the wires at the plastic connection. There was power to the connector. I waited several minutes and the bulb is good but wouldn't light. I've been told that it could be the ignitor ? Can I buy this part from you ? (Fiberstar 6004) Thanks, Mike
Good afternoon Mike, Yes, You can. here is a diagram and a list of the parts for 6004Fiberstars Illuminators, 6004, 6008, 6004-AS Parts
I have a Fiberstar 6004 Illuminator and the Lamp has been replaced twice but won't light. The fan and color wheel both work and there is power to the lamp. What parts do I need to check and / or replace. I hope not to replace the entire unit. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Good morning, Is the tab that touches the bulb corroded or pushed down make sure that is clean and making contact.
1. Does this unit have a light on top? I note the white top in the picture. 2. Would it replace an older Pentair Fiberworks system?

I have a 6004 unit. The light comes on, stays on about 10 minutes. Goes off. Comes on a minute. Goes off permanently. I checked the holes for venting and they are fine. Obviously not the bulb. Besides the fan being blocked (checking that next) what else could it be? GFI is fine.
Hi Joline, The unit is overheating which can be caused by improper ventilation and or a dirty or faulty fan.
I have a Lumenyte Model PH 3000 fiber optic illuminator that no longer works. What do you suggest for replacement? I believe that it is the bulb that no longer works but I do not believe that bulb is available. The pool is 18 years old and the lights have not worked for the past 8 years. Thanks
Hi Annette, The Fiberstar Lifetime Illuminator (6004) can be used as a replacement for the Lumenyte PH 3000 unit.
Is there a way to brighten the lights ? They are dimmer than they use to be
Hi Dorinda, You can try reporting the fiber cable, instructions can be found in the Fiberstars 6004 Installation Manual.

Hi Mary, The bulb does not go dull or get dimmed, you can try reporting the fiber.
I have a Fiberstars model 6008. The light and color wheel run for about 5 minutes or so then shuts off. Can you trouble shoot this for me? Thank You.

Hi Gary The 6004 would be the direct replacement for the 6008, the only difference is that the color wheel for the 6004 has 4 colors where your 6008 had 8 colors.
Hello. I have an fs5c-r. I was having a problem with either the x10 receptacles or the x10 controller. An electrician came in, took out the outlets and wired everything together so that it was on or off by a single switch. I want to go back to the original x10 type remote, but cannot find an original wiring diagram. Can you help me with a pdf schematic or direct me to a proper source?
Hi Jim I would suggest contacting Fiberstars - Now SR Smith Lighting directly they should be able to help.
Will the Fiberstars 6004 unit replace an old FS5C unit without replacing the fiberoptic line? And should the old fiberoptic line be replaced for any reason other than damage?
Hi, The 6004 can replace the FS5C and you can use the existing fiberoptic cable.

do you have any recommended installers for this product in the Katy or Richmond Texas area, 77406 & 77494? I have a 1998 model that is junk and needs to be replaced but I can't find a local installer, I'm handy, but i don't play with electrical items.
Hi Ed, We do not refer installers, you ca contact SR Smith at 503.266.2231 to find out if they can refer any installers in your area to you.
My 6004 light went off, I discovered that the light bulb is burnt , I decided to check the voltage on the lamb base that comes from the transformer , I discovered that t is 260 volts , which kind strange since the Y20-6000 should be using 110 volts, does it mean that the transformer is faulty , or it is ok I just have to replace the bulb assembly unit?
Hi Ahmad, This unit requires 120 volt 60 hz only, so if you're getting 260 volts then something is wrong. Consult an electrician to find out what the cause for the increase voltage.
To be sure. I have a fiberstars 2004 illumination unit that is defunct. Can I replace that unit with the much more reliable fiberstars Model #6004 (don't have AS model). Will Model #6004 connect to the #2004 optic line and the 2004 base without major problem?
Hi Gary, You can connect the existing fiber port line that you currently have to the 6004 unit, and use you the 2004 base as well.

I have had installed ( ca. 2000-2003) by previous owner on our ground pool a fiberstars Lifetime Illuminator 6000 series, Somehow working fine past 8 but totally burned out power tower due to some shortage. What will be my best choice to replace this with a new tower without replacing the fiber and light which is sealed firmly to the pool wall. Can I get the same tower? I do not want to replace the fiber cable currently installed. Thanks. W
Hi Wahid, the 6004 illuminator here would be a direct replacement for your 6000 series fiber-optic illuminator. The 6004 illuminator is a 4 color illuminator meaning your lights will fade through a range of 4 colors. We also carry a new 9 Color LED Fiber Optic Illuminator which would work for you and is an upgrade to the 6004. The upgraded LED illuminator is a 9 color illuminator, the bulb lasts much longer and the cost of operation is far less.
I am replaceing a Fiberstar 2008. Is the 6004 Fiberstar the replacement unit? Also will the current fiber strands work or do I need to replace them with the new unit? What is the total cost with shipping to 92027 CA
Hi Dennis, Yes the 6004 Fiberstars Illuminator would be the replacement for the 2004 illuminator. We have a new LED Fiber Optic Illuminator which would replace the 2004 illuminator. The LED illuminator would be considered an upgrade as it outputs brighter light, costs less to operate and has a much longer lamp life. You should not need to replace your fiber when replacing your illuminator as the old cable should work.
i have a worn out and broken fiberstars system from 1998. Is there a replacement to retrofit this model?

The 2004 model has a strand capacity of 400 while the 6004 will hold 450 fiber optic strands. The 6004 has a metal halide lamp that is rated at an average of 6000 hours. (4 out of 5 stars) Great fiber optic pool lighting system
Reviewed By: Poolman54 from Houston, TX ()
Pros: Easy to install, soft lights
Cons: Susceptible to bugs and the elements
This is a very good lighting system. I was replacing an old unit and the installation of the new unit was a snap, completely installed in less than an hour. I am very happy and satisified. The only problem or issue with this system is that it is susceptible to bugs getting inside it.
(4 out of 5 stars) It works!

Pros: Fiber optic lights! that work!!
Cons: Not the brightest lights and the red is pretty lame because it's so dim
I installed the system yesterday and got frustrated in the process because the instructions didn't assist with the issues I was having. First the wiring, the wiring previously installed used different color wires! It was a complete guessing game when it came to connecting them. Then the cooling fan was disconnected when I first tried using it, I immediately switched it off when it started smoking and started troubleshooting. Now it's installed and works.

Pros: Size is smaller
Cons: Material is of a plastic ln lieu of metal
My only discomfort with the product is that the cover is made of a plastic material and the prior post was made of metal. The prior was still in good condition when we switched out. I am afraid when mowing / trimming around it or with the extreme changes in temp (Texas weather) it will crack. We had prior for approx 14 or 15 years. We are looking forward to another 15 years with the new one. Keeping fingers cross :D
