Hello, The 15ft measurement refers to the cord on the light, not the face ring.

Hi. Yes, this Astrolite Fixture - SP0583L15 is a suitable replacement for the SP-573L unit. You will have to make sure a 15ft cord is long enough.

My fixture is a SP-583-L and it does not have the -15. I'm assuming that they are the same.

Mark, yes, the -15 just indicates that you have 15' of cord attached to the fixture. If your current fixture reads SP-583-L then the Hayward Pool Products Pool Light Astrolite 120 Volt, 500 Watt, 15 Ft Cord Plastic Face Rim would be the correct replacement.
