How many hours per day should I run my pump?
 Reply

A  Answered on 10/8/2013 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

There are many factors to consider; bather load, gallons of water, pump horsepower, type and size of filter just to name a few. A good guideline is 8-10 hours a day. On the cooler days and early and late season, you can cut the run time down to 4-6 hours because there is usually less swimmers and cooler water requires less chemicals. In peak season, when it is the hottest, raising the run time to 10-12 hours per day will help to keep the pool clean and circulating during it’s time of heaviest use.

Why doesn't the chart list a gpm for 50 feet of head on the data chart?

The SP2600X5 is not recommended for anything past 40 feet of head.

Yes you could but we would suggest hard plumbing the pump and not using above ground pool hoses.

I previously asked what size is the outlet thread on a Hayward sp2600x5 pump. I have a broken socket union and want to order the correct item. I was able to attach a picture for your review.

Hi, Mike. The Hayward Super Pump has 1-1/2" FPT. I'm not sure who made that union, however, you can use P/N SP14953S

Hi James, there are a few variables to consider when sizing a pool pump. Here is a guide that we put together called "How to Size a Pool Pump for Your In-Ground Pool" that may assist with that.

Hi there, We have a 1 horsepower superpump which is too big for our pool. We need a 1/2 superpump. Can we replace the 1 horsepower motor with a 1/2 horsepower motor or do we have to replace the entire pump? Also, is the 1/2 horsepower hardwired?
 Reply

A  Answered on 10/21/2020 by InyoPools Product Specialist Hector F.

Hi Denise, you do not have to replace the entire pump and can just replace the motor, drive train kit part number 5110-50, shaft seal part number 5110-11 for a chorine swimming pool, and shaft seal part number 5250-235 for a saltwater pool.
