Does everything needed to install the filter and pump come with this? For example, pipe fittins, pump-to-filter fittings & plumbing, etc.

None of the plumbing comes with this system. The system would include the pump, filter and multiport valve on Sand and DE filters (cartridge filters do not require a multiport valve). Any additional plumbing or fittings would be purchased locally at a hardware store.

How many hours per day should I run my pump?

There are many factors to consider; bather load, gallons of water, pump horsepower, type and size of filter just to name a few. A good guideline is 8-10 hours a day. On the cooler days and early and late season, you can cut the run time down to 4-6 hours because there is usually less swimmers and cooler water requires less chemicals. In peak season, when it is the hottest, raising the run time to 10-12 hours per day will help to keep the pool clean and circulating during it’s time of heaviest use.

Would like to purchase molded base for this combo of pump and filter, can you help me? If you don't sell it could you tell me the part # for it.

The parts sheets for either one of these does not show the stand. I would suggest contacting Hayward directly for the piece. They can be reached @908-355-7995.

This unit says single speed but product description states below. Please explain Dual Speed Benefits: The high speed and a low speed work together to maintain your pool. The high speed is utilized for demanding conditions and periodic needs. With the low-speed mode, expect up to 75% energy savings during normal operation.

Most pool pumps currently in operation are single speed pumps which run at one speed at all times. In response to growing energy costs and environmental concerns, manufacturers have begun making dual speed pool pumps which have both a low and high speed setting. These two settings allow you to run the pump at a lower speed for basic pool circulation and then switch to the high speed setting only when additional power is needed. The higher speed is appropriate for water features, backwashing a filter, vacuuming the pool or any other application that requires more power. Dual speed pumps offer significant energy savings and are now required by law in some areas, the entire state of California being one of them. Another advantage is that the low speed setting of a dual speed pump operates more quietly than a single speed pump. When replacing a pump motor, be sure to check whether you have a single or dual speed pump because the pool pump motors will be different.

In addition to the pipe fittings, what else does not come with this system? Does the motor have a normal 3-prong plug already attached? How long is the electrical cord that is attached to the motor? Is there an installation manual that I can read before purchasing this system? Thanks.

This package does not have a cord, timer or electrical conduit. This is just a pump/filter combo package. On both the Hayward C1200 filter page the manual is under the documents option as well as on the Super Pump 1 hp single speed page. Or you can just click on the C1200 and Super Pump words here

why the tank pop up?
 Reply

A  Answered on 9/19/2016 by InyoPools Product Specialist Alan M.

Hello Romil, from the brief description, it sounds like the lid on your filter keeps popping up. I can suggest that you check the threads on the center tie rod to make sure that it is good and not worn. If so, you would need to replace the Locking Knob. Also you will want to make sure the pressure gauge is not reading a high pressure in excess of 30psi. Please let us know if you have additional information you can add to help diagnose your problem.

my pool is 16x32 unground vinyl 4 - m8 ft. deep will this filter and pump combo be ok for this size pool

Hi Mark, As long as you don't have any runs of pipe over 50' and you don't have any water features like spa jets or waterfalls then this system would be sufficient for your sized pool.

When you buy the Pump and Filter Combo does it come with a Filter Cartridge, or do you have to buy it separate?
