Can I use this cleaner on a vinyl liner pool?
 Reply

A  Answered on 11/16/2012 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

The K60400 Kreepy Kruiser can be used in a vinyl liner pool however the manufacturer recommends the following: Before installing the cleaner in a vinyl liner pool: Check liner closely for signs of deterioration or damage from age, chemicals, pool wall damage, etc. If any damage is found, have a quali?ed pool professional make all the necessary repairs. Also, if there are stones, roots, etc., under the liner, remove them before installing the cleaner. Certain vinyl liner patterns are particularly susceptible to surface wear, pattern removal, ink rubbing off of, or serious scratches to the pattern caused by objects coming into contact with the vinyl surface, including automatic pool cleaners. Pentair Water Pool and Spa, Inc. is not responsible for any pattern removal, abrasions or markings on vinyl liners.

Does this cleaner attach to the pool filter or does it have an independent bag for debris?

The Kreepy Kruiser would connect to the skimmer or a dedicated vac line. We would recommend using a leaf canister to trap the debris.

I have the 360042, but the seal I have on that model catches the main drain cover and gets stuck a lot. Can I buy the replacement seal for the K60430 and put it on my 360042? Will it fit and work appropriately?

The replacement Seal/Skirt from the Kreepy Kruiser Inground Pool Cleaner (K60430) will not fit on the  Kreepy Krauly Pool Cleaner for Vinyl & Fiberglass Pools (360042).

I have a diving pool and my barracuda now only goes in the deep end I can't get it to clean the upper portion, why?

Hi, According to the Kreepy Kruiser Installation and User's Guide you may need to adjust the eyeball diverters (return jets), verify that you have the correct hose length and or make sure that the hose weights are in the correct position.

I have owned the Kreepy cruiser for about 2 years and have had to continue to up right the device. I have adjusted the weights a hundred times trying to balance it. still I have to go out to the pool and upright the unit on a continued basis. any advise would be appreciated.

Hello Mark, There are a few factors that can affect the cleaner causing it to tilt over. First, let's assume you are using the same hoses that came with the cleaner. If not, other vacuum hoses can be heavier and cause this issue. Second, you would need to be using the correct number of hoses. You would measure the length of hose from your connection point to the furthest point in the pool and then add one extra section. Third would be the placement of the hose weights. Fourth, you need to have adequate suction. If you have continued issues, you can refer to the Kreepy Krauly Kruiser Installation Guide or contact the manufacturer directly at: 1-800-831-7133.

My KKKruiser keeps getting stuck in one place in the deep end of my pool. Is there an adjustment or is this just a lousy product?
 Reply

A  Answered on 12/19/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, RJ. They are adjustments that you can make, you can reference the troubleshooting sections Cleaner gets stuck on the steps and Cleaner stays in one side of the pool of the Kreepy Krauly Kruiser User Guide.

The rubber ring keeps falling off so not sure if that's the part that needs to be replaced
 Reply

A  Answered on 9/10/2021 by InyoPools Product Specialist Craig C.

Hello Phyllis.  If you are referencing the rubber ring as the Vacuum Seal Kit (circular pad, part Key 4 on the attached parts list) then it is possible this part needs to be replaced if it is detaching from the Foot Pad as the cleaner moves about the pool.  The Vacuum seal becomes thin with use/age and can no longer hold its shape around the Foot Pad (part Key 5).  A visual inspection of the Foot Pad is also warranted.  The Foot Pad wears with age/use and will no longer hold the Vacuum Seal in place.  Kruiser 18" Vacuum Seal Kit - K12442  Kruiser Foot Pad kit - K12450   Pentair Kreepy Krauly Kruiser (2012-Current)
