I just started My Jacuzzi Magnum 3/4 hp pool pump after winter break. Initially no problems but overnight the pump starting making a high pitched noise. . It appears to be pumping water into the filter (15 lbs pressure). I cannot find anything in the trouble shooter.

Hi Rob, Normally this high pitched squeal means the bearings in the motor are going bad and that your motor needs to be replaced. If the Service Factor (SF) on your motor label is listed at 1.0 than you will need the Uprated 3/4 HP Jacuzzi Magnum Replacement Motor if your SF is listed at 1.5 than you will need the Full Rated 3/4 HP Jacuzzi Magnum Replacement Motor. You will also need a Jacuzzi Magnum Tune Up Kit when replacing the motor.

I cannot find the SF rating label for my Jacuzzi pool motor. It is a 1.5 A.O. Smith partial model number 184949(?) worn away...

That model # indicates a 1.5 HP Full Rate Motor with a 1.3 Service Factor. If you need the replacement motor then you would need the 1.5 HP Jacuzzi Full Rate Motor here.

The motor for my Jacuzzi Magnum Force 1.5 hp has arrived. The motor appears to be complete and intact. Why do I need the tune up kit? The seals and rings are new in the unit correct?

Ron, The motor does not come with any seals for the pump housing or the shaft seal. These seals should be replaced when the motor is changed.

Hi, If you can get the model off of the pump housing if it is still visible we can find the correct impeller that way. If not then you will have to take the pup apart and get the p/n directly off of the impeller.
