I have a power flo lx pump (SP1510) with a SP1500L impeller. This part looks to be the correct part, but the threaded part on mine is plastic and the one in the picture looks to be brass. Is it this the correct replacement part? Did they change the material of the threaded part?

That is the correct part  replace your existing one. They now make the shaft out of brass to avoid the plastic from cracking.

Does SPX 1500 KA seal assembly with cup work with this impeller? Does this impeller have a brass fitting with threads? The original had plastic.

Hi, The Hayward Shaft Seal (SP1500KA) can work with Hayward Impeller (SP1500L). The Hayward Impeller (SP1500L) does have a brass threads fitting.

My impeller has a molded spring in back where it screws on.

Hello Tommy - The spring part on the back of the impeller is part of the shaft seal. That piece can be removed from the impeller.

My impeller has a seal assembly broken off of it. When I order a new impeller do I also need to order a seal assembly #5111-03, or is this seal assembly built into the new impeller.

Hi Tommy, The Shaft Seal Assembly (PSR 2131) is not built into the Impeller. I would recommend replacing the shaft seal along with the impeller.

Why does my 1520 pump loose pressure when I try and use the vacuum ?

There may be an air leak in the vacuum hose. For a checklist on what may be causing your problem, read this how-to guide: How to Correct Low Water Pressure in Your Pool System

I have a hayward power flo lx pump sp1515z1bc 1.5 hp and I need to put a smaller impeller on to reduce power. Which one should I use?

Hi Brenton, This Impeller SP1500L is also used with some 1.5 hp models, so may need the Impeller (SPX1500F). To confirm you ll need to chek the p/n on your pump impeller.

Hello Moira, The correct shaft seal you would need is the Seal Assembly (psr 2131). This will fit the Hayward Matrix and Powerflo pumps.

I have a model SP1580 1 HP Hayward pump. It produces only 14 to 20 Lbs. PSI. when I run it without the filter it pulsates rather than a steady stream. I suspect the impeller or a seal is not operating correctly. What is your opinion? the whole assembly is only 3 years old. I want to order the correct parts before I disassemble it Thank you for your anticipated response...

Hi, Thomas. What you're experiencing can be caused by several things including a clogged impeller as far as the intermittent water flow. The high pressure could be caused by a dirty or old cartridge. Intermittent water flow and high pressure can be caused by a clogged impeller if the strainer basket is broken or a suction leak causing air to get into the line.

Hi. You can use this SP1500L, with the SP1510-Z-1-XBC motor. In order to locate the proper seal kit, I will need to know the model of the pump housing.

I have a Power-LX 1 HP pump model # SP1580Z2 . Could you please tell me the proper part numbers for a new impeller and shaft seal. Thank you

A  Answered on 8/10/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Alex V.

Mike, If your pump is the SP1580, then the SP1500L would be the correct impeller. Hayward has a few different versions of the PowerFlo pump. I would recommend taking a look at your impeller. There is a part number molded into the front of it. Also, please be sure to change the shaft seal wehn you replace the impeller.
