Just bought this from you. It leaks around top. What is wrong?

Kenny, There is an O-ring underneath the Filter Head. See item #2 in this diagram. Make sure it is intact.

I have a C1200 and the threads in the locking are stripping. Will this part work as a replacement?

Hi, Michael. Yes, this is the correct Locking Knob - CX900G for the C1200 filter. It will be wise to also get the Cone Kit - CX900DA which includes the replacement washers, e-clip, and o-ring.

My initial threads have failed on this Filter Lock Knob and the rod that screws into the bottom unscrews. If I replace this knob, how do I get the rod to stay screwed into the bottom when I remove the lid?

Hi, Joe. You will need to use Thread Lock.

Hi, Frank. If you're able to salvage the lid, you will need a Locking Knob - CX900G, Cone Kit - CX900DA, and the Cover O-ring - CX900F.

Does this screw onto the post in the bottom half of filter?

Hello.  The Locking Knob threads onto the stainless steel rod that is installed in the bottom half of the filter.  The Locking Knob extends through the filter head and when tightened onto the rod forms the seal between the two pieces of the filter body.  Attached please find an exploded parts diagram of the Str Clear Plus Cartridge Filter which may assist in visualizing this scenario.   Hayward Star Clear Plus
