How can I tell if the thermostat assembly in not working properly. I was told there is a red light that should be blinking. Any thoughts or suggestions would be helpful prior to replacing.

I have an old Series 2 ESG with the thermistor connected to a mechanical contact assembly at the thermostat. Does this replace that?

Can I use this (R0058200) on a Teledyne Laars EPC-325 heater? Looking at the schematics, my heater needs to complete the circuit from the 25VAC transformer through the thermostat (mechanical) and power switch and all safety devices to power the ignition control module which will, in turn, control the gas valve. This replacement temp controller wire identifiers do not suggest using 25VAC. What needs to be done?
