Hi, Larry. Based on the model number of your unit and the error code, you will need to replace the Temperature Sensor - 005088B

I have a 2014 Raypak 406a. The display shows sensor failure and the unit will not work. The display is still showing water temp correctly. Is this a temperature sensor failure or is there another sensor? Thanks

Hi, Todd. If the unit is reading the correct temperature, the sensor may not be the issue but the circuit board. I would recommend troubleshooting the unit using the Steps on Page 46 of the Raypak Owners/Instructions Manual

I have a Raypak P-R266A-EN-C pool heater. I am getting SNS error code. Do you carry a replacement sensor for this model? Is this part easily replaced by an HVAC licensed contractor? Or should I consider purchasing a new heater?

Hi, Karenlee. We do sell the replacement Temperature Sensor - 009577F for your unit which can easily be replaced by an HVAC licensed contractor. I would not recommend replacing the unit if the temperature sensor or circuit board is bad, they can be replaced.

My pool heater is reading the water temp way higher than it actually is, which keeps the heater from kicking on. The digital screen says “sensor error”. Essentially the internal sensor isn’t reading the water temp correctly which keeps the heater from kicking on. Am I safe to assume I just need a replacement sensor? Thank you!

Hi Nic, Yes this would be we would suggest replacing as the temperature sensor is a common part that goes bad. You just need to confirm that you purchase the proper temperature sensor for your model heater.

I installed new sensor, part number 009577F. When I turn on pump, water leaks out of fitting nut and sensor raises high above the top of the nut. What did I do wrong?

Hi, Dwight. Not sure what you did wrong, it sounds like the Sensor Adapter - 006714F may need to be replaced. Also, inspect the manifold to make sure that the threads are not stripped.

I have a raypak Model: P-R266A-EN-X S/N 1402214352. I don't remember when I purchased it but I did buy it from INYO Pools. When I fired it up yesterday, it sparked and ignited then heated. The water temp rose to 230 degrees. then the messages "Sensor failure" followed by "Sensor Shorted". Sounds like a Thermistor, which one? I also need a new Control Bezel. are either of these a DIY project?

Hi, Michael. This Temperature Sensor - 009577F along with the Control Bezel w/ Decal (05/2011-Present) - 013491F are the correct parts for your unit based on the model and serial number. Replacing these parts is a DIY project.

I have a Raypak 266A heater and I'm getting the 'Sensor Failure' code. I just replaced the LCD screen which wasn't working (I believe) because of moisture damage. Is the Sensor Failure related to the LDC screen replacement?
 Reply

A  Answered on 6/6/2019 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, Andrew. It is not, the sensor or the PCB could be bad. You can troubleshoot the temperature sensor using the instructions on page 46 of the Raypak Owners/Instructions Manual

I have a Ray Pak 2100, it ignites and gives off an excellent flame, produces a lot of heat but it only raises the water temperature 5 degrees from 71 intake to 76 going back to the pool. I was told by Ray Pak it could be the "Unitherm Governor" which is similar to the thermostats in a small block Chevy, I removed it and it made no difference, I would be greatful for any suggestions you might have? Can this sensor be cleaned by light sanding
 Reply

A  Answered on 10/22/2020 by InyoPools Product Specialist Hector F.

Hi Mike, we would not recommend sanding these sensors however using diluted acid to water mixture of 1 part muriatic acid to 5 parts water to clean any scale off of it.

Hi! I lost my user manual for my Raypak heater so I don't know for sure if this sensor will work with my heater. It looks the same but I just wanted to be sure it is an exact match. Do you know which Raypak heater models use this sensor? Thanks!
