How does a saltwater chlorine generator regulate (based on the users setting on the control box) the amount of chlorine released as power is supplied to the cell? Does it (1) supply a constant, but reduced amount of power to the cell; (2) toggle the power off and on so full power is supplied but only when toggled on; or (3) supply full power, but only to a limited number of the plates in the cell?

Hi Laurie, Based on the output level most chlorine generator work by sending a power to the cell intermittently.

I have an AquaBlue salt system that is now not working. I believe the original cell is OK but have also purchased a replacement cell to check the system, so I have 2 cells that should be OK and the control system is not working. I believe Aquablue and Reliant are the same machines under a different trade name, so would my cells be compatible with the Saltron Reliant? Rgds Andrew

Good day, yes that would mean you would need to replace the salt cell. I would recommend contacting the manufacturer at 561-455-0252 if they can advise who has just the cell for that unit.

My in ground pool pump is on a timer to run 7 AM until 11 PM. Can I tie the salt controller into the timer or does it need to have constant power. Also, my pool is about 25000 gallons, but I've been told to go the next size larger for a salt generator. Should I?

Hi Lawrence, Yes you can tie this salt system into a timer. Page 6 of the Saltron Owner's Manual goes into more detail about the timer wiring. Yes we would agree to go with the larger 40,000 gallon system.

Hello. I have an existing Jandy AquaPure FSOFT1400 SWCG system. Looking to replace it with a newer system with better functionality and lifespan. How difficult (or hopefully easy) would it be to replace my old system with a new Saltron system? Is this something I could do myself or would I need a pool tech or electrician to do the install.

Hi Steve, Most of our customers do install this system on there own. We do have a Video on How to Install a Pool Salt System which many customers find helpful when they tackle this project. If you have an automated control system like the Jandy AquaLink then the installation does get a little more difficult/technical.
