The First Easy-Handling Solar Blanket Storage System
The Solar Saddle is a unique and simple storage solution for above ground pool solar blankets. Tired of that soggy solar blanket lying on the deck or the ground? Or maybe you've been struggling to roll it up on a solar reel. With the Solar Saddle, you can quickly fold up your blanket and store it right on the side of the pool, within easy reach for the next use.
Easy to use, simple to install, and affordable!
The Solar Saddle features a set of five flexible mounting brackets that attach to the top rail of your pool, giving you the freedom to install the saddle exactly where you want it. Easy to position out of sight on the back side of the pool. Once installed, you simply fold up your solar cover and rest it in the brackets. This folding method keeps your pool much cleaner than solar reels which allow collected debris from the top of the blanket to dump right into the pool. The Solar Saddle turns removing and replacing a solar cover into a one-person job whether you are in or out of the pool. Includes five mounting brackets and all hardware.
Typical installation setup of Solar Saddle onto top rail of above ground pool
Solar Saddle hardware includes:
Installation requires two holes per bracket to be drilled in the top rail of the pool. Each bracket extends out from the side of your pool 18" and down the edge of the pool 19".
Pictures above show a solar cover on a 27 foot round pool stored neatly and out of the way.

I have a 24 ft round pool with a deck and railing all around it. Will the solar saddle attach to the deck railing rather than the pool itself?
The Solar Saddle connects to the wall of the pool under the railing only and cannot be safely installed to a deck rail. Please see the photos of the product on the description page for a better view of the hook to see if it will meet your needs.
ok for 27' round
Yes this will be perfect for a 27' round pool.
I lost one of the plastic pins that holds the piping. Can I gat it replaced?
Hi Heidi, You can contact SolarEZ via email at firstname.lastname@example.org for replacement parts.
Is there any way we can purchase extra hooks? We have the 5, but our pool is 18x33, and it would be nice to have a few more so the cover doesn't hang on the ground.
Hi Teresa, You will have to purchase (2) Solar Saddles.
will this system work with a 16x32 above ground oval?
For a pool that size, we suggest using two sets.
Will these mount to a 15' round ? How wide does the rail need to be for proper mounting?
Hi Karla, The Solar Saddle can be used with a 15' round pool. These can be mounted to a 4" wide top rail with at lease 2" of flat mounting space.
I just recieved my solar saddles and tried to mount them, however there is ribbing under my ledging and i cannot get them mounted the way the instructions say. there is no flat area to mount them to a pencil width away from the pool side.the only place i see i can mount them is if pushed them right against the pool wall. and that is really tight . How do i mount them in this situation?
Hi William, Based on your explanation I don't see a workable way you can mount the saddles to the rails. .
I purchased this item and it will not fit under my top rail of pool. Any suggestions for retro fit?
Hi Robin, There is not a retrofit kit available for the Solar Saddles.
What are the hooks and brackets made of?
The Solar saddle is made out of PVC.
I have a 27' round Radiant Pool with 4" top rail. Will this work?
Hi Jim, Yes the solar saddle will work on a 27' round Radiant Pool.
How do these attach. Do you screw them into rails underneath? Will it rust over time
Hello, You will need to drill into the top rail to install the solar saddle. If you have steel top rails, they may rust over time. You can use some Rustoleum spray before installing the solar saddle to help prevent this.
I have a 33 foot round, do I need 2 sets.
Hi Heather, One set will not suffice for a 33' pool, you will need two sets.
Can I get replacement pins and U-Brackets? I would like 5 of each. Mine worked well for most of last year, but the pins are not held in place by anything and some of my U-Brackets broke. One word of warning, Don't store the cover in these saddles when it is raining. The rain water will overload the U-Brackets and cause them to fail. Otherwise, this system can be made to work well (If I can get replacement parts). Thank you!
Hi John, You can contact SolarEZ via email at email@example.com for replacement parts.
Can you purchase these in any color other than white with a blue cap. Black, brown or a taupe color?
Hello, these Solar Saddles can only be ordered in the white with blue caps.
how do the hooks attach to the pool?
Hi Lou. You must drill holes in the top rail of the pool to attach each bracket, to which you screw in each hook. For a more thorough display you can go to the manufacturer's page.
How far apart do you space the brackets for a 24' round pool?
Hi, "The key to mounting the Solar Saddle product is to evenly space the saddles to allow 2 1/2 to 3 feet of the cover to extend over/past the outside saddles, as the picture below shows."
How much op is each hook.
Bonnie, The hooks are not sold separately, it comes in a pack of 5.
Can these be used on a Intex Ultra Frame pool?
Matt, Unfortunately these can not be used on an Ulra Frame pool.
How long are the s s bolts? I have a resin top rail so may need longer bolts than for a steel rail?
Dave, The package contains two sets of bolts, they are ½” and ¾” long and are stainless steel.
I have this solar saddle and love it. My question is do you sell just one of the hooks and I need to replace the latches that holds them I need three of those
Hi Judy, I am sorry but we only carry the full set of 5 saddles.
what size pool is this for? would it be over kill for our 13' diamater pool?
Debie, As long as you have the proper upright and the need for the Solar Saddle it will make handling a Solar Blanket easy.
Would these work with a resin top rail? Would the rail be strong enough to hold the hooks secure?
Hi Dave, Yes the Solar Saddle's do work on a resin top rail and the resin rail is strong enough to the hold the hooks secure.
were do i get replacement mounting pins
We currently do not carry these pins so I advise to contact Solar Ez directly here.
Will these attach to a railing around the pool? I have a 18' pool with an attached metal 1 1/2' walk around deck with a 3' high railing. Would these work?
The saddle should work with your application. The five mounting brackets will attach to your stop railing and are flexible to give you more freedom on how you'd like to position it as well.
will five holders be enough for a 35 foot round pool? Thank you!
For a 35' round pool I would suggest two sets of Solar Saddles.
Are replacement mounting brackets available? A couple of mine are cracked and I would like to get replacements
We do have these available, however it is only sold in a set of 5.
How far from the pool do the "hooks" extend?
Hello Thomas - Each bracket extends out from the side of your pool 18" and down the edge of the pool 19".
Are there different instructions for a larger pool? If not, how much farther apart should the saddles be?
Unfortunately the manufacturer doesn't have any other instructions for a larger pool. Per the manufacturer: Note: If your pool is 28 foot or larger you just fold the solar cover back on top of the outside saddles, or you may want to purchase single saddle kits that are readily available. If the brackets are spaced farther apart than the recommended distance, the weight distribution will become uneven and may cause premature failure.
Will this work on an Intex Brand 2 Metal Frame pool?
Unfortunately this will not work with the Intex pools. These have to be attached to a top rail.
Can the saddles be used on rectangled pools?
Yes, these can install be installed on a rectangle above ground pool.
I need some new mounting pins. Is there anyway to purchase just those?
Unfortunately, the mounting pins are not sold separately.
Can this be used on a 33 foot round pool?
This will install on any size above ground pool. It will be installed in between your above ground pool uprights.
(5 out of 5 stars) A Must Have!

Pros: easy to install, easy to use, does the job
Cons: durability?, modified where to install
I purchased these for my 24' round pool. It is great to hold a rolled up cover -- It keeps the cover clean and out of the way. It takes minimal practice in rolling the cover to easily place it in these hooks. I followed the directions for installing but ended up moving two of the hooks closer to the others. Before I was only using 3-4 of the hooks, and now I am using all 5 hooks to hold the cover. I am hoping these hooks last. This is my first summer with them, but I am very pleased with the purchase!
(4 out of 5 stars) Instructions are poor
Reviewed By: Chris C. from Indiana ()
Cons: Spacing in instructions isn't accurate
The product itself is good, but the spacing instructions don't work for a 24' pool. The cover is too short for the end supports and sometimes it sags in the middle. The concept is good, just not the instructions. Tighten the spacing up and they'll be fine. I'm going to buy an extra kit so I can double the amount of hooks. Then it should work like a champ.
(4 out of 5 stars) Finally cover off my deck
Reviewed By: Pamela P. from St. Louis, MI ()
Pros: Cover off deck
Cons: Could use one more, my cover is huge
I have a 33 foot pool and my cover is huge and cumbersome. Now I have my full deck back because my cover took up over half of my deck.

My parents ordered the hooks first a few years ago. When my husband and I bought our house with a pool, the hooks were one of the first things I ordered. Easy installation and keeps the solar cover off the ground. What more could you want.
(5 out of 5 stars) Excellent Solar Cover Holder

The Solar Saddle works very well. With a newer pools you may need to purchase longer bolts (2 1/2"). I also do recommend putting the saddles closer together (4' apart). Install was about an hour. So far no issues, Very pleased.
