** PLEASE NOTE: Century has discontinued the B864SE 1.5 HP Up Rate motor. They recommend as a replacement QC1102 1 HP Full Rate motor. The effective horse power of these two motors is the same: B864SE 1.5 HP x 1.10 SF (service factor) = 1.65 effective HP; QC1102 1 HP x 1.65 SF = 1.65 effective HP. Inyo Pools is shipping the QC1102 as a replacement.

How critical is it for water to travel from pool to heater and back to raise temp, both pumps are 2" in and out with 3450 RPM`s with same voltage, except one was a older 2HP and the new one is 1hp with a 1.65 s.f.
Hi. It is very critical to ensure that the unit functions properly and as intended. Heaters will not work without the proper water flow.
Need to replace my filter motor and received advice on your Chat line that is the proper replacement motor. Old motor is Max-E Glas II Model K48L2PA105 and seal plate has numbers P4E6E-151L.
Is it also necessary to replace the seals on the pump housing/seal plate?
Hi we are ordering a pool motor ao smith 1 hp glance 487 qc1102 do we need to order anything else for the installation .....ie like a sleeve
Hi, Charles. You will need to replace the pump shaft seal. To locate the correct replacement, you will need to provide us with the pump housing pump model.
A.O. Smith pump Mod. K48L2PA101A1 finally died. I am looking to upgrade to one of the variable speed motors. Can you tell me what pump and seal kit (If needed) would be ideal for me please?
The VS motor replacement that you would need is the model ECM16SQU. And for the seal kit, you will need to provide us with the model name or number of the front pump housing that the motor bolts to so we can cross-reference those seals. If you cannot locate that information then you can always send us an image of that to email@example.com so we can assist.
This looks like the replacement for my K48L2PA105C3 in my sta-rite max-e-pro. Is there a variable speed motor that matches this one that I could upgrade to? what seal kit do I need?
Is this compatible with the Sta-Rite P6EA6G-207L?
What is the energy usage difference between the older qc1102 and the ee b864se?
Hi. The Century B864SE Motor has been replaced by the Century QC1102 motor. The B864SE used 7.8-7.4/14.8 amps at 208-230/115 volts and the QC1102 motor uses 8.0/16.0 amp at 208-230/115 volts.
What the difference between this model and "1 HP Motor EE - Full Rate (B2841, B2841V1)"?
I have a Pentair Whisperflo WF-26 / 011773 / 1.5 HP / 1.65 S.F. HP.
Which one should I buy?
Hi. The difference between the QC1102 and the B2841 motors are the Frame size. The QC1102 has a 48Y frame which is smaller than the B2841 which has a 56Y frame. Either motor is compatible with Pentair Whisperflo WF-26. The Pentair Whisperflo Tune Up Kit GOKIT32 or GOKIT32SALT is the correct kit for that pump.
Tune Up Kit Starite P4E & P4EA Max-E-Glas II / DuraGlas II
Is this the correct tune up kit for the 1.0 HP Full Rate EE Motor (B864SE)
Hi John, The GOKIT38 is the correct kit if you have a Sta-Rite Max-E-Glas II & DuraGlas II pump. The motors info does not determine which kit you needed.
Intermittently working k48l2pa105, is there a capacitor to swap or just move forward with this motor for replacement?
I'm replacing my 20year old K48L2PA105 motor. Does this replacement come with a new shaft seal? If not, what is the part number. Thank you
Cory, The motor does not come with a shaft seal. The seal is dependent on the make and model of the pump housing not the motor.
Water got into the motor and rust formed on the inside of end cap of the motor, right where the motor shaft come through to impeller. Do you know where I can get new end cap? Bearing and everything else is OK!
I NEED A NEW MOTOR AND GOT THE FOLLOWING #'S OFF THE OLD ONE. MOTOR#K48L2PA105, MODEL#AE100FLL. CAN YOU TELL ME IF THIS IS FOR THE MOTOR SHOWING ON YOUR WEBSITE WHEN I PUT IT IN. IT DOESN'T ACTUALLY SHOW THIS #
I just finished replacing the shaft seal on my booster pump. As soon as I turned the pump on water was leaking from the shaft seal. Is it defective or am I doing something wrong?
Depending on the model, the installation of a booster pump shaft seal can be slightly different than a pool pump shaft seal. Some booster pump and pool pump shaft seals require that a silicone sealant be used on the outer areas of the metal seat of the shaft seal. The seal will need to be lightly hammered into the body of the pump. You can use a 1 inch PVC coupling or a piece of 1 1/4 inch PVC pipe and a rubber mallet. This procedure will apply to any pool pump or booster pump using a >PS-1000 style shaft seal.
I'm trying to replace the motor on my pool pump but all these numbers and abbreviations on the motor label are really confusing me. What do they mean?
Replacing a pool pump motor is not as difficult as it seems. You can try looking here. If you need help figuring out what the information on your label means. If you are still having difficulty figuring it out you can call us at our toll free number or you can send us a photo of your motor label here.
Why should I purchase a Tune Up Kit?
A Tune Up Kit includes all of the essential replacement seals and gaskets for the pump. The seals and gaskets should be replaced when installing a new motor on your pump. New seals will prevent the pump from leaking water or losing the prime. A Tune Up Kit will protect your motor and ensure that the pump is working efficiently.
Why do I need to purchase a new shaft seal?
We strongly recommend replacing the shaft seal. The purpose of a shaft seal is to prevent water from running down the shaft of the motor and into the motor housing. Water will damage the bearings and cause the motor to fail. A new shaft seal should be installed whenever a motor is replaced. The motor manufacturer can deny the warranty if the motor fails to due to water damage from a faulty shaft seal. To find your shaft seal you will need to visit our Pool Pump Parts Page or the Spa Pump Parts Page and select your make and model.
What is Service Factor?
Service Factor(SF) is a multiplier that when multiplied by the horsepower of the motor indicates the total permissible horsepower loading that may be carried when the motor is operating at rated voltage and frequency. The most important thing to remember when replacing a motor is that the replacement motor's horsepower times its service factor must be equal to or greater than the original motor's horsepower times its service factor. The Service Factor rating can be found on the motor label. See Step 4 of our How to Read a Pool Motor Label guide.

Best of all is the wonderful customer service help provided by Inyopools. The product was here in the time specified and the price was considerably less than the 5 other companies I checked with first. The product was as specified and ordered and hasn't given me any problems to date. It was installed about a month ago.

My eighteen year old spa motor had a bearing going out. I was going to replace the bearing until I seen this fair price you were asking for this motor, it was almost twice that at the dealer. The motor was an exact replacement and runs quiet.
