Part # PL0194

Alternate Part #'s ACC44, SWLACC44

Product Description

Place this sturdy air pillow under your above ground pool cover to protect your pool from the pressure caused by freezing water.  As water freezes, it expands and presses against pool walls but an air pillow will absorb some of this pressure and help to protect your pool throughout the winter.  By lifting up the center of the winter cover, this 4' x 4' pillow will also help reduce the amount of rain, snow and debris that collects on top.  Made of strong 16-gauge vinyl with plastic grommets on two corners.  Easy to secure with either rope or string (not included).

How does the Pool Air Pillow get inflated?

To inflate the Pool Air Pillow, our supplier recommends using a pump, like the kind you would use for an air mattress or bike tire.

I have an above ground pool and I've been told that I need to use an air pillow underneath my winter pool cover. What does the air pillow do?
 Reply

A  Answered on 9/27/2012 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

An air pillow helps to attract freezing water as it expands and relieves the pool walls from the stress of water expansion.Air pillows also help reduce excess water, leaves, debris and snow on your winter cover.

Every year we use the pillows under our cover and every year some of them deflate even thought the plugs are closed tightly. How can we prevent this from happening. It seems like money wasted if they are not going to stay inflated. Should we duct tape the plugs shut?

Hello, Lori. Sorry to hear about the difficulties with the Air Pillow. Make sure you haven't over inflated the pillow. Inflate the pillow to only 60% to 80% of its capacity to allow for compression and center the pillow in the middle of the pool.

Pool cover holding water

Purchased 3 "dead man" pillows to hold it up. Pillows were large, well constructed, and did the job very well. Very happy.

Putting winter cover on pool.

Written on 3/9/2020 by Guest

Winter cover is easy to put on pool by yourself. First you pull cover over pool allowing the slack to hang in side of pool on waters surface. Then you use the supplied cable and ratchet to tighten cover.
