Hi, I think I need to replace this board in my controller, but not sure.....my clock no longer works, the salt generator reads salt way lower than it really is, and one of my valve actuators has now stopped working......and.....all the LEDs on the control panel are all illuminated all the time...does that sound like a bad PCB? Goldline main PCB, part # G1-066008N-1 Attached some pics....

I've only been in this house about a year and two days ago started getting a Communication Err 2 message. I currently have the Goldline Controls G1-066008N-1 PCB. My pool tech tested it out the antenna and said it wasn't the issue. Wil this board (PCB Circuit Board AquaLogic - GLXPCBMAIN) solve my problem and be compatible with my pool heater and remote?

Hi Toby, Yes from what you have described, this sounds like a bad PCB board and this is the proper PCB Board you will require for the system in your photos.

Thanks for your advice...I ordered this PCB. But wouldn't you know it, after multiple days of exhibiting this Communication Err 2 problem, it now stopped and my pool has been working perfectly for 4 days. Any thoughts on what could be happening and why its now working? I assume one of these days it will stop and never work again, but perhaps you have an alternative point of view. Curious of your thoughts...

The Error code 2 can be present from an abrupt power outage that has fried the PCB. You can check the breakers and reset if that does resolve. It may indicate a wiring problem in the temp sensor terminal block, a faulty connection to a wired remote, a faulty connection between the local display and the main circuit board, or the main PCB needs replaced.

Good day, yes if the display is kicking on and off with a click that would be a bad PCB Circuit Board AquaLogic GLXPCBMAIN  Goldline Control. If it is or is not producing it would be a different issue. We would need the diagnostics of the system to see if it is or is not producing.

The board should fix the no cell problem Hayward Goldline Controls Aqua Logic control system, all versions, all datecodes. This Board is the newest board for all Aqua Logic Systems made by Hayward and Goldline Controls. This board will upgrade so you will be able to run the T-CELL-3, T-CELL-9, TCELL-15 and the new Ecostar variable speed pumps. This will usually fix the no cell power problems. Will not work on the AquaLogic Pro Logic This will not make you wireless as that would require Aqua logic Pro

I have an AQL-PS-4 and the pump is stuck on. Pressing the filter button like normal to turn it on/off still registers as the display will switch to on/off, however the actual pump doesn't turn off. The only way to get the pump to turn off or on is the flip the breaker. Is replacing the board the only way to fix this and if so, is this the right part? Thanks for the help.

Hi. The OCB may not be the problem, I would also recommend that you check the pump relay. A bad Relay - GLX-RELAY can cause this issue. The AQL-PS-4 uses the GLXPCBMAIN

Piggybacking on his comment - but my pump isn't running, but shows on and off! What the heck is an OCB and where is the pump relay? But when we pulled the board the back looks like this!! - the one spot on the lower left was an inept, but efficient, contact repair. The one towards the middle, I don't remember seeing before. Is the board blown?

I have a Hayward Goldline PS-4 Aqualogic Saltwater Chlorinator, My System tells me low volts and the check system light is on.i have replaced the rectifier and still no chlorine. The cell is 3 years old. The goldline is about 12 years old. Trying to decide if I should replace the whole system or see if we can repair this one. Do you think if I replace the main this should solve the problem or should I cut my losses and get your Crystal Pure system for a few $ more? Any idea on its warranty?
 Reply

A  Answered on 8/5/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Alex V.

Sandy, Before replacing the board, I would recommend having the cell tested. If the cell checks out, replacing the board should get you back up and running. The Aqua Logic is an automation system that has the salt system built into it. If you opt to purchase the PureLine salt system, you will not be able to control it from the AquaLogic system. The PureLine salt system has a 2 year warranty.

Usually this reading means that the salt level is too high in the pool. If the cell is reading the level incorrectly then that could be either the board needs to be recalibrated, the cell is going bad or the flow sensor/switch is. Also cleaning the cell and switch may help.

Main Board went bad

Written on 11/1/2017 by Guest

After inspection by my Pool Service, it was determined that the clock on my Goldline/Hayward main board was going bad. Put up with inconvenience for several weeks until the clock totally went and the overfill would not go on as timed.

Goldline PS-8 controller timer malfunctioned

Written on 6/13/2017 by Guest

1. Opened panel door.
2. Documented every part of every section of every level of the entire controller program for later use.
3. Turned off all power breakers.
4. Unplugged salt cell.
5. Removed panel faceplate.
6. Confirmed "no power" with voltmeter.
7. Removed display unit from nylon mounting posts, and disconnected it from the Main Printed Circuit Board (PCB).
8. Took multiple pictures of existing wiring to the main PCB.
9. Disconnected all wiring plugs from the main PCB.
10. Backed out two hex-head screws from lower section of Main PCB approx 1/2".
11. Raised Main PCB up and out of keyhole mounting slots, to remove the board.
12. Removed existing rectifier wires.
13. Installed replacement Main PCB.
14. Re-connected all wiring plugs to Main PCB and newly supplied rectifier wires to rectifiers.
15. Plugged salt cell connector in.
16. Closed power main circuit breaker to power-up the control unit.
17. Re-programmed the replacement Main PCB using documentation taken noted in step 1. (Note: Best to program the "CONFIGURATION" section first, so that all functions (devices) will appear when programming the other sections).
18. After being satisfied with operation, turned power circuit breaker off.
19. Re-installed panel faceplate.
20. Re-inserted the salt-cell plug into it's socket.
21. Turned all circuit breakers back on.
22. Again programmed correct day & current time.
23. System now successfully back in operation. WooHoo!

24. NOTE - My final comment:
It feels truly unfair that this board, costing many hundreds of dollars, had to be replaced because of the failure of a (maybe) $2.00 timer on the board or in an IC chip. All other board functions were still working.
