The Aqua Logic System has 4 different control options available.
1. Wall Mounted Wired Remote - The wired remote requires 4 conductor wire to be run from the equipment pad to the location in the house where the Wall Mounted Wired Remote will be hooked to the wall. You can Add Up to 3 Wired Remotes to your Aqua Logic system. If you are adding the Aqua Logic to an existing pool, the wireless remote may be a better option.
2. Wall Mounted Wireless Remote - Aqua Logic wireless remotes require a Wireless Base Receiver. Only 1 Base Receiver is needed to operate any combination of 4 wireless remotes. The Wall Mounted Wireless Remote does not require any connections from the remote to the equipment set. This makes the wireless option ideal for retrofit applications. Unlike table top wireless remotes that can be moved around the house, this unit is mounted to the wall and plugged into a power outlet nearby.
3. Wireless Table Top Remote - This portable display/keypad with rechargeable batteries allows the homeowner to control the system from anywhere around the pool area or inside the house. Designed for indoor or outdoor use but must be protected from direct rain contact. Only 1 Base Receiver is needed to operate any combination of 4 wireless remotes. The Table Top Wireless Remote does not require any connections from the remote to the equipment set. This makes the wireless option ideal for retrofit applications.
4. Wireless Spa Side Remote - A Base Receiver is required when using the wireless Spa Side Remote. Only 1 Base Receiver is needed to operate any combination of 4 wireless remotes. Control up to 6 functions in the comfort of your spa with the Wireless Spa Side Remote.

Can my Goldline Pool/Spa Remote control (AQL SS RF) be repaired? It is no longer working. I’ve had it since 2005. If it can be serviced, can you tell me who to call or where I might take or send it. I live in Jacksonville, Florida. Many thanks!
Hi, Mike. Unfortunately, it cannot, replacement parts are not available. I'm unaware of any company that repairs these units. You can contact Hayward at 908-351-5400.
will I received the AQL-SS-RF ie the older model that works with the aqua logic P4 board and transmitter? not he AQL 2 Thanks

We would recommend Aqua Pod 2.0- Waterproof, Programmable, Wireless Remote - AQL2POD2 (Rev. 2.6 or higher software) is needed for this remote.
When i installed my pool, i was provided with a wireless remote, Model AQL-SS-RF. I ordered a replacement, but received Model AQL2-SS-RF. I am unable to "teach wireless" for the new remote. I followed the instructions, and the light on the remote blinks once, but fails to blink 3 times within a fair amount of time (book said seven seconds; i waited much longer). Is the 2nd generation remote incompatible with my system? Must i try to locate the original model? thanks.
G, In order to use the newer remote, you will need the AQL2BASERF.
My remote will not turn anything on, but when I turn lights/filter on at the pump the remote does turn everything off? I changed the batteries-no change. The small light at the bottom does light up when I press any of the buttons.
Hello, your remote might have a defect in the on button. I would call the manufacturer on this to see if they can recalibrate the remote.

Does this remote need to be configured in anyway to the base unit? I have the same unit and model number now but for some reason the battery's get drained, even when not in use. Thank you
Hi Bob, You will need to reconfigure/re-teach the new spa side remote to the base unit using the instructions found in the AQL-SS-RF Installation/Operation Manual.
My AQL-SS-RFquit working. New batteries in and still led wont light. Does the base station have to be plugged in for the hand remote to work? Pool controls at main panel working fine just hand unit seems dead. O rings good and no moisture in unit. Any ideas?
The most likely cause is that the distance between the base receiver and the remote is too great—try moving the remote closer to the receiver. Lastly, there may be other equipment in the neighborhood that is using the same frequency. To see if this is the case, go to the Settings Menu/Wireless Channel and select another channel. Note that after you change the channel you will have to “re-teach” every wireless remote device in the system.
Hi I have a remote and it has stopped working all sudden after about 8 years since new when we had the pool built so we where wondering if this remote is serviceable or repairable versus the cost of a replacement one ?

Excellent! Good experience and the part was packaged new. The shipping was a little pricey but I received it in two days. I was a little concerned when after calling Hayward, I learned the part number had been changed but the new number was on this part, even though I ordered with the old part number. All I had to do was follow the instructions to sync it with my base. It looks a little different than my old remote, but works great!
