Model # AQLCHEM2

Alternate Part #'s GLD-451-1019, GOLAQL-CHEM2, HPPAQLCHEM2

Product Description

When used with the Goldline Pro Logic and AQL-CHEM sensing kit, the AQLCHEM2 CO2 dispensing kit solves the problem of how to provide low cost pH control for backyard pools without having to handle acid. The AQL-CHEM2 is designed to install on a standard CO2 tank and wire directly to the Pro Logic control. Using the AQL-CHEM sensing kit, the Pro Logic pool control will sense the pH level and if needed, the AQL-CHEM2 will introduce CO2 to the pool water. CO2 is mildly acidic when dissolved in water and will lower the pool's pH slowly without the safety or health concerns normally associated with harsher acids. pH DISPENSE Part # AQLCHEM2- Total Pool ChemistryThis professional-grade pH dispense technology was previously only available for commercial pools. Goldline Controls now offers an economical approach, with the same level of accuracy, for residential in-ground pools. The pH Dispense is an Add on Module which can only be used in conjunction with the Goldline Controls Pro Logic Control System. The pH Dispense will automatically dispense pH to your pool using the ProLogic Control system

What if your pool could self-adjust; automatically test its own chemistry, and balance and sanitize the water? What if it always knew what the water needed and adjusted continuously, eliminating unhealthy highs and lows? Ensuring brilliant, balanced water all the time, automatically. You can get your water in balance with Goldline® Controls.

This professional-grade ORP and pH sense-and-dispense technology was previously only available for commercial pools. Goldline Controls now offers an economical approach, with the same level of accuracy, for residential in-ground pools. The Sense in Dispense is an Add on Module which can only be used in conjunction with the Goldline Controls Pro Logic Control System

The Advantage
When pool owners add Sense and Dispense, Total Pool Chemistry technology to their Pro Logic or Aqua Plus controls, they get the first controls to offer integrated chemistry automation. That is a significant accomplishment, which means that there is no additional box on the pool pad and no additional power line required, so pool owners still only use their control pad or remote to control all functions of the pool and spa. This integration lowers installation and energy costs since the power comes from the existing controls. The technology can also be added to new or existing control units, and the level of control can be customized for the individual pool owner based on their needs and the needs of the environment. Pool owners can add the Sense and Dispense to their Aqua Rite Pro salt chlorinators. As with the Pro Logic or Aqua Plus controls, the Aqua Rite Pro salt chlorinators can be featured with integrated chemistry automation that does not require a separate box on the pool pad or an additional power line. And while there are existing products that may provide chemistry automation, Sense and Dispense is the only integrated solution that can be added to new or existing Aqua Rite Pro salt chlorinators at any point in time.

How It Works
Sense and Dispense, Total Pool Chemistry technology consists of two chemistry kits. The first kit senses pH and ORP levels and dispenses a self-renewing supply of pure chlorine generated from salt. The second kit lowers pH by using CO2, which has been shown to be particularly effective on salt chlorinated pools where the pH tends to drift up. By using CO2, pool owners are able to reduce the pH to recommended levels by forming H2CO3 (carbonic acid), a safe acid that does not require handling. Both chemistry kits are used for controls and chlorinators. Additionally, the technology can support commercially available Peristaltic Acid pumps preferred by some pool professionals for the management of pH (This approach does not require the second kit to manage pH).

Q: Can you give a simple explanation on how this system works and the proper items which would need to be purchased?

A: The Sense & Dispense is an add on module for the Pro Logic control system & the AquaRite XL. When you purchase the AQLCHEM Chemistry Kit #1 With pH sense, ORP Sense & ORP dispense, you are now able to have your Pro Logic or AquaRite XL system sense the pH level in your pool as well as display the pH level on the Pro Logic controller. The AQLCHEM Chemistry Kit # 1 will also dispense pH through liquid acid pump and tank system (purchased seperately). The AQLCHEM will also sense your ORP/Chlorine level and display the ORP level on your controller as well dispense the appropriate amount of chlorine to your pool when your chlorine levels fall outside of your preset set points. The chlorine is sent to the swimming pool using the salt chlorine generator on the Pro Logic system. So the AQLCHEM will sense the pH in the pool as well as sense the ORP/Chlorine in the pool and then dispense the appropriate amount of pH through the acid pump and send the appropriate amount of chlorine to the pool. Now if you want to automate the process of dispensing pH back to the pool via CO2 you will need to purchase the AQLCHEM2 Chemistry Kit #2 CO2 pH dispense module. The AQLCHEM2 would be purchased in addition to the AQLCHEM. After purchasing the AQLCHEM2 Should I use CO2 or Muratic acid? If you will be using muratic acid you would use one of our Stenner Liquid Chemical feeders which is a 15 Gallon tank with a feed pump on the tank which would dispense acid back to the pool, you may or Stenner Liquid Feeders here. If you decide to go with a CO2 tank this can be purchased locally. We recommend CO2 as it CO2 can only drop your pH levels to 5.5 PPM where Muratic acid could drop your pH down to 0.0 which would be very hamful to your plaster, vinyl liner or equipment. Lastly if you have a AquaLogic system you may purchase the AQLCHEMUPG to allow your Aqua Logic to be able to add the AQLCHEM and AQLCHEM2 to an Aqua Logic control.

I'm trying to confirm: can the Sense and Dispense, coupled with Hayward ProLogic, control ORP using a liquid bleach pump rather than a Salt Cell? I do not want a salt water pool, but would like to automate pH and ORP. With pH, I know I can use either Acid with the pH Dispense Feed System or the CO2 pH Dispense, but I cannot find any reference to controlling ORP with liquid bleach. Thanks.

Hi, Paul. The AQL-CHEM4-CHLOR and or AQL-CHEM4-ACID  Liquid Chemical Feed Systems are designed to be used with a controller such as the Hayward AquaPlus, AquaRite Pro, Cat Controllers, or HCC Controllers. It will not work with

Your answer is incomplete..."It will not work with...."??? Hayward ProLogic??? It says on your website: The Sense & Dispense is an add on module for the Pro Logic control system & the AquaRite XL. What I was hoping to do was attach a Sense and Dispense, or AQLCHEM, or whatever you recommend, to the Hayward ProLogic, then use the readings from that to drive two pumps, one for acid, one for bleach. Will that work??

Paul, It will NOT work with the sense and dispense for the ProLogic. The ProLogic will only ORP with the Salt Chlorine generation, not a chlorine feed system unless the chlorine feed system is manually operated through a relay.
