I have a 33x54 round. I’ve dug it out to where it is deeper. What size filter pump system do I need?
Hi, Michelle. You will need a larger system for a 33' x 54" pool. I would recommend the S210T93S.
Can you please tell me where I can find the switch to change the speed on my HaywardS180T. I can not seem to find the switch. Thank you, Sandra
Sandra, The switch is located under the motor end cap.
Hello, i have a 33x15 above ground pool. Looking to replace pump and filter What would i need to do the job? Also can pump and filter be put in shed next to pool? thank you
Tom, I would recommend the Hayward S210T Filter w/ 1.5 HP Matrix Pump - S210T93S for your pool. You can have it installed inside of a shed but keep in mind that during the summer months, the motor will get extremely hot and may cause the motor to shut off due to overheating.
I just need the top part ofVariFlo Hayward m# s180t. Above ground pool.
He have a few different valves for the S180T Hayward Sand Filter that can be viewed on the Hayward Pro Top Mount Sand Filter 18”,21”,22”,23”,24”,27” Parts page. You will need to know if you have 1.5" or 2" plumbing.
i'm thinking of buying one of these pump. what kind of sand do you use
Hello, David. The Hayward S180T Filter w/ 1.5 HP Matrix Pump PART#S180T93S requires the use of #20 Grade Silica Sand for swimming pool filters. This filter will require 150lbs. of the #20 Silica Sand or 75lbs of the ZeoBest Sand Alternative.
What is the normal psi for the Hayward s180t93s?
Hi Jennifer, The psi will vary depending on the feet of head and other factors. A good operating pressure is under 15.
I have the exact same filter and pump. But I need the clear hose that connects the pump to the filter. As well as the connections for that hose, adaptors and clamps. Do you sell this? Thank you.
How often do I have to replace the sand in my filter? What is normal operating pressure?
On a "fresh start-up" a filter would operate anywhere between 10-20 psi. As a general rule of thumb you only want to backwash when the pressure increases 8-10 psi. You want to make certain that the pump is being turned off whenever you move the handle on the valve. Once backwashing is complete (3-5 minutes), you can switch to the rinse option to re-settle the sand bed. Sand will typically last 5-7 years. Premature backwashing will wear down the size of the sand which will cause difficulties such as cloudy water and higher operating pressures.
When should I change the sand in my filter?
You should change the sand in your filter every 5-7 years. You can generally tell that it is time if your pool water is not as clear as it normally is or when you notice the interval between backwashes is shorter. You can use > this guide to walk you through it.
What is the flow rating for this filter? Are the connections 1 1/2" or 2" and is it a 2 speed pump?
The designed flow rating for the S180T filter is 35 GPM the pump and filter both have 1.5" connections and this is a single speed pump
What is the voltage on this unit? How long is the manufactures warranty? If the system requires repairs during warranty, what do I do?
This pump runs on 115V power. This unit comes with a 1 year manufacturer's warranty. If the pump needed repair, you would call Hayward directly and they would put you in touch with a warranty service station in your area.
How much sand is needed for this filter?
(5 out of 5 stars) very good pump/filter combo

Pros: seems to be a better pump than my original
Cons: took a few plumbing modifications to attach to my hard plumbing
This is a great pump, and seems to out perform my other previous pumps by other brand names. Also seems to keep my water flowing better
