Does this top valve work for pentair sms-pp29
Hi Mike, This top valve assembly will work as a replacement top valve assembly for the SM-20 valve in your picture.
I need a 2" Multi-Port selector valve for my STA-RITE 32155-4158 Valve Model 18201-0300 will this one work ??
will this valve replace the, model SM2-PP2 . . . ?
What is the difference in this top assembly and the Praher 270067 2" top assembly valve listed on Amazon at $117? Do both work on the Pentair SM-20-2
Is this part also known as the multiport key assembly? Does it include handle, plastic bearing/washer, spring, o rings etc. - basically everything but the spider gasket, housing & plumbing? Is that correct?
Hi, Megan. Yes, however, it does not also include the cover o-ring.
I have a Pentair 261152 -- would it be cheaper for me just to buy this -- instead of all the parts?? Thanks
Hi, Rhonda. Yes, replacing the Valve Top Assy is cheaper than getting all the parts.
I have a Sta-Rite 2" Multi-port Selector Valve 18201-0200H. It leaks a small amount from the top (handle area) and a lot out of the drain / backwash hose. Which part(s) do I need to repair and stop leakage? Thanks.
Hi, Larry. You can use the following parts or options to repair your valve. Option 1: replace the seals using either the MPV 2" Tune Up Kit (NO SPRING) - APCK1069, MPV 2" Tune Up Kit w/Spring -APCK1069S. Option 2: replace the Top Valve Assy - E-50-S2 (White) or E-50-S2B (Black) along with the Cover O-ring - E-7-S2 and the Diverter Gasket - E-12-S2.
Does this come with a new gasket/o-ring to install to valve body?
How do I know if I put the valve with the handle on my sand pump back on the right way
Same issue as most of the others. Water leaking up from the handle, no longer springing back into place and difficult to turn. Looking for a replacement for a Sta-rite md: 18201-0300 diverter valve side mount 2 inch assembly.
What are the functions of the Top assembly valve?
Hi Don, here are the valve functions and their different uses. 1. Filter - For normal filtering and regular vacuuming. 2. Backwash - For cleaning filter sand bed of accumulated debris. 3. Rinse - Use after completing backwash cycle to ensure all dirty water is rinsed out of the filter to waste. 4. Waste - By-passes the filter for draining or lowering pool water level and for vacuuming heavy debris directly to waste line. 5. Recirculate - Water is recirculated through the valve, by-passing the filter. 6. Closed - Shuts off the flow from the pump to the filter.
I'm having trouble with the handle spring and trouble turning the nob - Do I need to replace the valve key hub and the spider gasket? What are the compatible parts? Will the 4600-1152 fit my praher sm-20 2 inch backwash valve sm2-pp3 , 125 gpm?
I have a sta-rite multiport valve WC212-150pn - (10 bolts on top) very hard to turn and leaks a bit through the top --
will this top assy fit my valve?
Will this part fit my Pentair SM 20-3. It also says SMS-PP3 on top
I have the Pac Fab DE DNS 48 filter. This cover looks like the correct one for me, but apart from the looks, what do I need to check to see if it is correct? The label on my current valve is totally gone apart from xxxx3207 in the top right which I believe to be the label p/n. I do know at least the valve is a side mount, in that it is positioned in front of the DE filter.
Hi, Chris. We will need the valve model number in order to confirm if this top assembly will fit the valve you have. You can also send us photos of the valve since the numbers are totally gone.
I have a pool that was built in the late 80s with a pac fab selector Valve that is not working properly and the handle is broke. Not sure of the model #. Will this fit?
Hi Bill, In order to conform if this assembly will fit I will need to know the model of the valve.
I installed the sm20-ao , new de filter panels and now the water pressure from the pump to the filter is crazy high. Any idea as to why?
Hi Joel, You may need to open the air relief valve on the filter and check to see if the correct amount of D.E. powder has been added. Also check the pressure gauge to make sure it's not giving you a faulty.
I relly need help, have a very old inground pool from early 70's. I have a Purex, triton, Model SM-20-2 multiport valve. I cannot turn the handle anymore and water is filling the chamber and backwashes into pool. I need a new one, need a compatible mate.
Will this part fit on the pentair sm-20-2 with out chaning the lower spider gasket and will the flow remain the same? Thank you
Will this fit a Pentair model SM-20-3?
Will this part fix my Praher Model SM-20-1 s/n 1914877?
will this top assy work with my purex trition model sm20-2 valve ? also the spider gasket that ihave on my order.
Does this part come with a new set of bolts and nuts?
Will Praher model #4600-1152 (e-50-s2) be compatible as a replacement part for my Purex Triton Model SM-20-2 backwash valve assembly?

(5 out of 5 stars) Moderately Easy Changeout of Top Assembly and Spider Gasket
Reviewed By: Ernie D from Spring, TX ()
My pool was draining through the backwash when the pump was running and the multiport handle had become very difficult to turn. I was able to change out the spider gasket and top assembly with about two hours effort. Most of the time was spent cleaning the gasket channels in the valve body. My wife helped by providing various scraping implements and by applying the gasket adhesive with a steady hand. We used 3M 80001 weather strip and gasket adhesive. Everything is working fine with no leaks. The top assembly makes it possible to change many of the valve parts without having to fight handle locking pins and spring compression. This is a good product.

When I removed it from its packing the operating arm was locked in a wired position not the thought of winterization. It was easy to install w included spider gasket however after rotating the operating arm it doesn't lock into the setting as it should.

(5 out of 5 stars) fit perfectly

My old valve was no longer working correctly. It was probably 20 years old and was very difficult to use. I've opened the valve a number if times to replace gasgets and the base assembly looks ok, old but still solid. I searched for a new valve and found this product. It was a lot easier to just replace the top assembly and the price was much better. It all worked out great.
(5 out of 5 stars) Just What I ordered

When the valve for my commercial hot tub broke, I had trouble finding this product from any of our vendors. Ordering was quick and easy, and the parts arrived fast. This part is exactly what I ordered and included the entire top valve assembly, saving me lots of money. The top label did ship in the red color, but that wasn't a problem because I like it better than the black.
