I need to know is unibead is the same as j hook liner

Hi Jean, A unibead comes out of the box as a J-hook liner meaning that the bead is an upside down J and hangs right on the wall of the pool. The unibead has the extra advantage that you can cut off the J-hook and turn the liner into a beaded liner. The Unibead liner was created for retail stores so that they would not have to inventory a complete line of J-hook liners and a complete line of beaded liners as this liner could be used as J-hook or beaded liner. So yes this would be the same as a J-hook liner :)
