how well does this cleaner lift leaves. I have a tree that hangs over the pool. In the fall and spring a lot of leaves fall. The hole looks small does it have a diafram

A     Answered on 8/4/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Alex V.

Hello, While this cleaner can pick up leaves and debris, it is not recommended if your pool has a lot of leaves. If your pool has a lot of leaves, we recommend manually vacuuming the pool or using a leaf bagger. This cleaner does not have a diaphragm.

I have an in ground fiberglass pool 20x40. The tires that came with The Poolcleaner have the hump for concrete pools but work very well in my Pool. Will these tires damage my Pool if I just keep using them?

A     Answered on 6/2/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Hi John, No you would have no problem with those tires on a fiberglass pool.

have the 4 wheel model built in pool 18x36 does not go up the sloops and never makes it to the low end

A     Answered on 5/29/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Stacey M.

Hello, you might try checking your hose to see if it is all going towards one direction, I would lay your hose out in the sun for a little bit and then reconnect to see if this is better. It also depends on the skimmer location, if it isn't in the middle and on one side more than the other than that could also be the problem.

?     Asked on 5/7/2017 by HERACH SAFARIAN

If designated for larger pools, how's only 32 feet of hos sufficient? Standard pool length is 30 feet; at a depth of only six feet, 32 feet would have to be completely stretched out, which will not happen. 38 feet of hose should be standard length to accompany the unit.

A     Answered on 5/8/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, Herach. This unit comes with approximately 40 ft. of hose not 32 like the 2 Wheel model.

About the Pool Cleaner or Poolvergnuegen 4 Wheel: Can the cleaner remain in the pool while we are swimming? I read on https://www.hayward-pool.com/images/pdf/manuals/aquanaut-200-400.pdf "DO NOT swim with cleaner" in SAFETY FACTS. Does this mean it must be removed every time we swim? Also wondering how sturdy the pool is. If something falls in the pool, will it destroy the cleaner? Wondering what it can do and what to watch out for. Thanks for your help, DS

A     Answered on 4/17/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Scott W.

Yes, I would not recommend swimming with the cleaner in the pool. It is not harmful, just inconvenient for both you and the cleaner.

Would the Poolvergnuegen PoolCleaner 4-Wheel Suction Side Cleaner work on a fiberglass pool?

Hi, Tim. The Pool Cleaner 4 Wheel Cleaner will work in a pool that has a fiberglass surface with the addition to the Vinyl/ Fiberglass Tire Kit - 896584000-075.

?     Asked on 2/13/2017 by John

Just received the Hayward Poolvergnuegen 896584000 (4 wheel gray) and was more than disappointed that it does now climb the sides of my PebbleTec pool. RPMs are 14 (counted 14 wheel revolutions using a countdown timer) and tried all 3 throat attachments - hoping the large opening (installed in the correct direction) would have solved the issue. Even cranked up pool suction but still no joy - just spins on the base of the curve to climb the wall. Any suggestions?

A     Answered on 2/14/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, John. I know that you also tried increasing the suction but you will have to do it in intervals. Too much suction can also prevent the cleaner from climbing the walls. Also, you can try positioning the floats closer to the cleaner. If that doesn't work the issue could be the pool curve.

A     Answered on 10/31/2016 by InyoPools Product Specialist Adam Y.

Carolyn, That particular cleaner has a lot of working parts. The most common parts to replace are the wheels, flaps and bearing drives. Here is a link to replacement parts.Poolvergnuegen Suction Cleaner 2X & 4X Parts . I would recommend taking it to your local pool store and have a professional take a look at it to see what it needs.

They probably will not honor the warranty unless you purchased the cleaner from them, but for that cleaner they should have the parts for it and should have the tools to replace the parts if they are a credible pool store.

A     Answered on 9/9/2016 by InyoPools Product Specialist Scott W.

Our return policy is 30 day after purchase and unused, so if it arrives damaged or something, give us a call and we'll exchange it for you. As far as if it happens to break down while still under warranty, we would be able to help you with getting the replacement part under warranty through the manufacturer, but yes, you would have to take it to a pool store to get it repaired. Either that or you would be able to sent it to the manufacturer where they would repair it and send it back.

Hello Gary, the cleaner could get caught up on steps sometimes and depending on having a cover we just recommend taking off your cover so there is no interference with the hose/cover.

A     Answered on 6/25/2015 by InyoPools Product Specialist Hector F.

As long as the suction per the system is sufficient for the cleaner then yes this model will work fine. Worse case scenario you may need to use optional tires for slippery surfaces shown in the manual here.

Rod, If you want to vacuum manually, you will need a proper vac hose of proper length and diameter.

Does this cleaner come with the different size suction mouths, in case it isn't climbing the sides properly?

A     Answered on 5/27/2015 by InyoPools Product Specialist Dennis R.

Hi Paula, No this cleaner does not have different size suction mouths. It's performance in climbing the wall is controlled by increasing or decreasing the water flow to the suction port or skimmer, generally through a diverter valve.

I have a 2 wheel version. It often gets hung up on the steps and won't free itself. In addition, I recently put weights on the vacuum hose to keep them on the bottom. Now the unit gets stuck on the submerged hose as well. Would new tires or the 4 wheel version fix this?

A     Answered on 5/26/2015 by InyoPools Product Specialist Dennis R.

Clark - It's not clear why you submerged the hose. It's designed to float on the top out of the way of the cleaner. The 4-wheel cleaner is designed to pull a longer hose in larger pools so it has more pull power and may not get struck on the steps as easily. If you have a smaller pool and the cleaner tires are worn smooth, you might solve you problem by replacing the tires.

I have a vinyl pool so I will need to buy the front tire kit for fiber glass pools? There is no way to designate which tires a new model should come with? Will I need a leaf canister if I have a lot of trees in my yard?

A     Answered on 5/17/2015 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Yes this is correct about needing to purchase the front tire kit for fiberglass pools, unfortunately at this time you cannot change out the tires at the time of purchasing the new cleaner. If you get a lot of leaves then I would suggest a leaf canister, you could always add this after the fact if you want to see how the cleaner works without a leaf cansiter.

In a fiberglass surfaced pool, what does the standard model do/not do compared with one equipped with the wheels made for fiberglass pools?

A     Answered on 4/21/2015 by InyoPools Product Specialist Brian M.

I spoke to the Technical Help at Hayward ( 908-355-7995 ) and was told that the only difference is the tires. The standard tires may climb the walls, but if they do not there are tires available that will. They are part number 896584000-075 . The Hayward Tech said you would only have to replace the 2 front tires.

There most definitely is a vinyl version. We only carry the standard 4 Wheel Pool Cleaner , but we do have the tires available for vinyl pools. They are part number 896584000-075 .The Hayward Tech said you would only have to replace the 2 front tires. The hose is standard, which will accommodate the canister used typically on Hayward cleaners. The cleaner does have a large vacuum hole and can handle large debris

Hello Pat - The warranty is taken care of by the manufacturer. All you have to do is call the manufacturer and provide your serial number. They will first try to troubleshoot the cleaner over the phone. If that doesn't work they will put you in touch with the closest warranty center.

As long as you have sufficient suction and flow from your system it isn't actually about what you need but more of a preference. Either the 2 or 4 wheel model in theory will suffice. As far as a canister, the more debris then the larger canister you may want to use.

If you would like to buy additional hoses you can get 3248-19. That would be an 1 meter of hose. You would need at least 2, 3 if you wanted tto be on the safe side.

A     Answered on 10/15/2014 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

The 2 wheeled cleaner would be just fine since the gallons are perfect for that cleaner. Also, the max depth the cleaner is "best" for is 6 feet, so you are good for that as well. If you get lots of leaves might I suggest a leaf catcher that gets placed between two of the sections of hose.  http://www.inyopools.com/Products/02201321001425.htm  This would help keep the larger debris from clogging up the pump basket.

A     Answered on 1/25/2012 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

These cleaners may climb up a 1/4 of the way on the wall and will turn back down because of a flap mechanism on the wheel which helps it to keep from getting stuck and allows the cleaner to go in the reverse direction. Because this is a suction cleaner, it is only designed to clean the pool floor.

I appreciate the helps on recommended RPM's for optimal performance. It keeps the bottom of or pool spotless. We love it, which is why we bight the exact same pool cleaner when our old one wore out.
