Is this the same as fresh n clear potassium peroxymonosulfate? That's what I've been using for years.

Hi. Yes, this is the same as the Leslie's Fresh 'n Clear Shock.

How long after shocking my pool with chlorine can we swim

A     Answered on 7/3/2015 by InyoPools Product Specialist Dennis R.

With this non-chlorine pool shock you can swin in the pool 15 minutes after treatment. With regular chlorine shock you should wait 12-24 hours (after chlorine has returned to normal levels) before swimming in the pool.

I was told that I could use a non-chlorine shock even if I am using chlorine tabs in my swimming pool. Is that true?

A     Answered on 12/20/2012 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

A non-chlorine shock is great for oxidizing the water which helps the chlorine work better. Non-chlorine shock is typically used in spas that use bromine and in chlorine based pools as a "shock and swim" meaning you can shock the pool with the non-chlorine shock and swim 15 minutes later.

Do I need to mix this shock in a bucket of water before adding it to the pool?

A     Answered on 12/20/2012 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

The non-chlorine shock is a fast acting oxidizing shock and can be added directly to the swimming pool.

I purchased this pool shock but when I added it to my pool my chlorine level stayed the same. Was this a bad batch?

A     Answered on 10/26/2012 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

A non-chlorine shock will not increase your chlorine levels. It is designed to oxidize/sanitize the water without increasing the chlorine. If you want to increase the chlorine when you shock, you will need this.

I'm looking for pool shock to sanitize my drinking water. Will this work?

A     Answered on 1/25/2012 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

I have heard of people using pool shock to sanitize drinking water but I can not promote the use of any pool shock for this purpose. You will want to contact the NSF for further information.
