Both companies' cable will work with either the Fiberstars or Super Vision illuminator. You will need to make sure that you have the proper perimeter track in your pool to accommodate the appropriate cable.

We are building a wall close to the pool and thinking of a waterfall. Where does everything go? Can the pool pump be used instead of a dedicated pump? How far can the illuminator be from the waterfall? How far from the wall to where the water hits the pool? In other words, how close does the waterfall have to be to the pool?

The illuminator and pump can be placed where your exisiting pool pump and filter is located. The further the distance away from your pool, the more more fiber and a higher HP pump you will need. We recommend purchasing an additional pump for a waterfall. If you use the same pump, the waterfall will take away from the existing water circulation and your pool will not be properly filtered. I want to install the SV 150T6 or the IL-ion-8000-sb, I have not decided yet. I will be using this with 150' of the SV42 perimeter cable, is this correct the correct illuminator? If so this is a pool renovation and i want to use the SVLS 42 (which i will need 13 0f them) but i saw it is no longer available , that means that i have to use the SVTRK-42? i am right ? Thanks , in advance.

Hi Pablo, Either the SV150T6 illuminator or the IL-ion-8000-sb LED illuminator will work with the SV42 perimeter fiber optic cable. I really like ION Led Illuminator as it is very bright and the bulb lasts a very long time. The SVLS42 is no longer available and you would require the SVTRK-42 Track.

Based on the few pictures I could find online, I think I have a SV250H illuminator. Mine is so rusted I can't find any name or model number on it. What model will replace it and is there anyone in the Orlando area that you could recommend to do the work. Thanks

Hi Tyson, I would suggest the ION LED Fiber Optic Illuminator this is a great unit which is very bright, economical to operate and has a very long lamp life. I have a Fiberstars unit model number 6004 last night I was using it and all the sudden the light went out I went over to look at it and it was very hot on top I let it cool down and then turned it on later and it worked do you know what possibly happened? Do I need a new bulb maybe?

Hello, If the bulb is still working the fan or another internal part may have failed. I would recommend going through he trouble-shooting in the owner's manual.

I have a 6004, all the particulars of that unit are house within the plastic case. Does the 8000 install inside of the 6004 housing or does it sit exposed. How many components comprise this system as I see (2) pictured and how is it lined up with the fiber optic cable?

Hi Ranz, No the ION-8000 does not get installed inside of the 6004. You would completely remove your Fiberstars 6004 illuminator and the ION-8000 would take the place of your 6004 illuminator. You would receive both items in the picture the black item is the illuminator and the silver box is the controller. Your fiber-optic cable would go into the front port of the black LED illuminator.

How do you get this unit to change or cycle through the colors? Is additional equipment needed for that? What colors will this unit produce?

There are two possible way to control this system. One is your standard light switch, the other is a control box and 24v power source. The best way to understand is to review the Owners / Operators Manual for the system.

How much brighter than 150watt metal halide as in the sv150T is this Led unit? Can you put this in percentage terms or say what metal halide wattage equivalent it would be?

Hi Jim, The Fiber Optic 9-Color LED Illuminator has a output of 2700 lumens which is equivalent to a 150 watts incandescent light bulb.

hi - Is this LED Illuminator a complete replacement for the Supervision SV150T tower? Is it as simple as unplugging the fiber connector from the old tower and into this unit? (and hook it to power as directed in the installation manual?)

Hi, This unit can replace the Supervision SV150T Tower, I do not think that the installation would be that simple because the fiber port connect may not be the same. Please review the ION-8000 Installation Manual for installation instructions.

Hi Paul, This ION-8000 Illuminator or one of these Illuminators can be used as a replacement. The ION-8000 will have to be special ordered but that is your best option based on what you're looking for.

Does this unit have a cooling fan and if so is it loud? It seems if you use a 24vdc power supply without the interface you interrupt power to toggle through colors. Is there a way to just have the colors cycle?

Hi, Howard. This unit does not have a fan but uses the SynJet flow system which is a fanless cooling system. You can set the illuminator's memory to either the slow color changing or the party mode.

I have a supervision eclipse 2 illuminator, are you familiar with this product? The unit is beyond repair but when it worked I could remotely use it through my Pentair easy touch controller, what do you recommend replacing this OLD unit with and will it work with my PENTAIR control system? I tried working it out on the Instructions, but in simple english, can this unit be Programmed to Colour Change every 15 / 30 seconds .4
also my fiber at the moment, (42) is pinned to the Outside Concrete Wall, if i Upgrade to 84 fibers, will it need a cunduit or support on the wall? can it also run around my hot tub at a right angle.

Hi, Alan. This unit does have a slow color changing and a party mode, however, the timing cannot be altered. IF you want to upgrade to an 84 strand cable, you will first have to make sure your track can is large enough. It can be run at a right angle.

Hi, John. The Illuminator and the power supply is rated for outdoor use. However, it's recommended that the power supply is placed in an UL Nema Box Enclosure.

I live in Boston. Can I leave the ION-8000 unit outside over winter without a cover?
Is there a preferred direction for mounting that would increase longevity in the inclement weather?
I plan on putting the power supply in a UL box however.

Hi, Dan. This Illuminator outdoor rating is IP67 and operating temperature is 14°F to 176°F. Which means that it's protected from dust and capable of withstanding water immersion between 15 cm and 1 meter for 30 minutes and can withstand temperatures of 14°F to 176°F. I wuld recommend that you bring it in during the winter in Boston.
