Hi Amanda, The Easy Pool Step Entry System W/ Gate (NE138) can be used on a pool that does not have a steel wall and 52" high.

Can I leave the stairs in my pool over the winter? If I have to remove them how do I get them out without the sand coming out in my pool?

Hi, The manufacture recommends removing the steps from the pool during the winter. You will just have to lift the complete step out out the pool, sand will not be able to get back into the pool.

to remove for winter do I have to separate the outer steps from the inside or is it possible to remove as one unit

Hi Judy, If you can remove and store the step without separating the unit you can. You will need to follow the maintenance steps in the Easy Step Installation Guide.

We have an 18' Intex pool 48" high.
I see previous answer stated product not compatible with Intex 14' pool.
Is this true for 18' pool?
Why doesn't your product work with Intex?

Jeff,Unfortunately it is also true for the 18' Intex Pool as well. Intex are manufacturered in a manner that does not allow compatibility with majority of pool products. In most cases, you simply have to reach back out to Intex. Sorry about that.

Is it possible to only purchase the crossover and the gate? I already have the bluewave walk in steps with outside ladder i just need these two items gate carton (NE138C)

Will just 40 lbs of sand be enough to anchor these steps...even if the person is large??? more than 200 lb person??

In our experience 40 lbs. of sand has been sufficient to anchor the steps even for larger swimmers.

Lifting these stairs out of the pool with water and 40 pounds of sand sounds difficult, to say the least. Is there any other way to weigh down the stairs?

Michelle, Since the Intex pool does not have a top rail for the step to rest on, the Easy Pool Step Entry System W/ Gate can not be used with Intex pools.

How many inches is it from the ground to the gate latch? It's the only measurement not shown.

The gate latch looks to be about 45-46" from the ground. It is the same height as the fourth step.

I have a 16ftx48 summer waves elite will these steps work. I'm buying off of marketplace the gentleman told me they will work fine i do not want to damage my pool

Judy, Unfortunately, these steps will only work with a solid wall pool. If you have a "soft-sided" pool or a metal frame pool, these steps will not work.

Hi, Susan. The Easy Step - NE113 and NE113 Crossover - NE138B which can be used outside the pool will only work with another NE113 step.
