How is it possible that this valve actuator will fit on any 2 or 3 way valve?

The most common valves in the industry are Jandy, Compool, Pentair,Hayward, and Intermatic.  These mfg'rs make up 99% of the valves on the market.  All of these mfg'rs use the same bolt pattern on their valves.  Since they use a common bolt pattern, the valve accuators are interchangeable.  Click here to view all our  valve actuators

Hi Ben, The Compool / Pentair Valve Actuators will be the correct replacement for the CVA-24 Actuator.

Hi Stephen both this 4424 actuator and the Intermatic PE24VA Actuator would be replacements for your Jandy 2440 actuator.

The Jandy Valve could have an internal issue or the Actuator may need to be replaced, if you have automation. You may click here to view the Jandy Standard & Never Lube Valve Parts diagram. I suggest reviewing our How To Repair a Diverter Valve and How To Replace an Actuator Valve guides.

I need my jandy actuator to move and stop in 90 degree increments. If I have a 3 port valve with an actuator and the B port is the inlet and the A and C ports are outlets (standard position) I need the following to happen: At 0 degrees B is off or dead headed. At 90 degrees B is connected to C; A is off. At 180 degrees A, B and C are all connected. At 270 degrees B is connected to A; C is off. The valve will do this but can the actuator do this? Help!! Karl

Hello Karl-  Looking in the owner's manual for this actuator it appears you would be able to have that functionality. Here is a link to the manual for you to double check, there is a chart on page 8. I believe you will need Mounting III: http://images.inyopools.com/cloud/documents/jandy-valves-actuators.pdf

Have 20 year old valves that work great, just leak a bit. Is there a gasket/o ring kit I can purchase for a rebuild? They are JVA 179532 and JVA 179532 valves.

A  Answered on 6/3/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Hi Denis, The JVA is the electrical portion that sits on top of the valve so you would not need the JVA o-ring. Here is a link to the Jandy Valve Replacement Parts that you would require.

Hi, Jonathan. The JVA4424 Actuator does have a toggle switch. It is located on the bottom or the underside of the actuator.

I am trying to replace my old JVA2440 valve actuator. Your website says it is replaced by the newer JVA2444 and the pictures show JVA2444 marked on the valve. But your FAQ says the valve is a 4424. What is 4424? Is that another replacement model for the JVA2440? If I order a JVA2444 will I get a 2444 or a 4424 and what is the difference? This is very confusing.

A  Answered on 10/3/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, Gary Davis. The 4424 is the current model number however, the valve will have JVA2444 on the valve. They are all the same just with different identification numbers. There is no difference between the numbers.

I have a Jandy JVA2440 valve on the suction side of my pump that needs to be rebuild (I think). it doesn't seem to seal in the closed position and allows air into the system. I sometimes lose the pump's prime. What parts do I need to replace? Just the rubber gaskets or more? Is there a re-build kit for this?
 Reply

A  Answered on 6/11/2018 by InyoPools Product Specialist Hector F.

It really will depend on the model of the valve itself which your actuator is mounted to. Most commonly it's a Jandy diverter valve or Pentair. If you click here you will see the parts list with the seals listed that you may want to replace for the Jandy. Then click here to view the Pentair version.

The actuator I ha. I will have is mounted on top of a Jandy Never lube 3 port. I believe that the actuator is also a Jandy (even after looking at the parts diagram) however I cannot find any model numbers. Note the 3 way switch is underneath. Can I use a 4424 in this system since everything else I can see is a Jandy product? I will also need to move the cam lobes to control a 90 degree swing.

Hi Jon, Yes you can use the Jandy 4424 for the application shown in your photos. You can also use the Intermatic or Hayward Valve Actuator shown on our Valve Actuator Page as those actuators cost a little less and work the same as the 4424
