I need to replace my the capacitor on my 1.5HP pool pump. Do you carry the capacitor I need?

Please note that capacitors store an electric charge and should be handled with the utmost caution and care. We do not encourage handling a capacitor without any type of safety measures in place and highly recommend contacting a professional service company for repair/replacement. For those that feel comfortable changing the capacitor here's  >How to replace a pool pump capacitor. In order to match up the capacitor you will need more specifications on the capacitor. You will need to match the voltage, the MFD, whether or not the capacitor is a >run or >start type and the actual dimensions of the capacitor body.

I have the ust1202 pump which was just humming rather than starting up. The capacitor in it is a 124-149mf 165vac ngm 61b1d160124nnao. I tried a new capacitor with the same ratings and the motor started right up the pump ran for about 1 minute before the capacitor blew. Is this the correct capacitor for this motor? What would cause it to blow if is correct?
 Reply

A  Answered on 4/7/2019 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, Peter. Since your motor immediately blew the capacitor the issue could be the motor. Starting with the winding, stationary switch and or the thermal overload. This capacitor is only rated at 125 VAC, it will not replace a 165 VAC which we do not have.
