I just purchased two of the Aqualimn III (120V/250 Watt) lights from your website. I was wondering if these lights can be used with a dimmer relay. I have an Aqua Plus pool panel and it has the ability to utilize a dimmer kit to accommodate dimming the lights. See page 24 of the following link "Lights Relay". https://www.hayward-pool.com/pdf/manuals/Manual236.pdf I understand that some lights (such as fluorescents) should not be controlled by a dimmer so I am wondering if there are any dimmi

We spoke with the manufacture of the light and they stated that they do not recommend using the dimmer relay on the AquaLumin III light as a dimmer will shorten the life of any bulb. They also stated the halogen bulbs are more fragile then incandescent bulbs and that the life would be shortened even quicker on the halogen. With all of this being said they stated you could use the dimmer relay, but we wanted you to be aware of these potential issues. The dimmer relay for the aqua plus can be purchased here http://www.inyopools.com/Products/02200004034490.htm

I just received my Aqualumin III lights and it appears that the mounting brackets do not come with the lights. It does not appear that the light comes with everything for new installation in a vinyl pool with steel walls. Any insight you can provide is appreciated.

If you are replacing an Aqualumin light then you would require this Aqualumin retrofit kit http://www.inyopools.com/Products/07501352024766.htm If this is new construction or a new light installation then you would require either of the items here http://www.inyopools.com/SearchResults.aspx?KeyWords=78887 The 1" and 3/4" on these items is referring to the conduit size which the light cord goes through.

Our pool presently has an aqualumin II light and needs many parts to put it back into working order (bulb, gasket, etc) so I am thinking of replacing it with the newer Aqualumin III. What is the advantage of this? How is this light better? If I order this product what parts does it come with and what extra parts will I need to order? The installation manual you have on line seems somewhat confusing about what parts come with the light package (78873500). thanks

Hi, Douglas. There aren't many changes or upgrades between the Aqualumin II & Aqualumin III lights. If your mounting bracket is still reusable it can be used with the Aqualumin III so you would not have to purchase additional parts other than the fixture.

The halogen bulbs keep burning out after a couple of years.. we very rarely use the pool light. I took the old bulb to homeDepot and lowes and there seems to be an exact looking bulb for about $80.00 less than what you charge. Why? Also, I see there is a 12 volt and a 120 volt version. Would a 12 volt system be better? and do I need any other equipment to run the 12 volt?

Hi, Jeffrey. We only sell the Manufacturer's recommended replacement kit, not just the bulb only. A 12 volt system will be better than 120 volts. You will need the PX100 - 100 Watts Transformer.

Are there any plans for a LED version of the AquaLumin Light?

Hi, Eugene. There is NOT an LED option in the works by Pentair.

Hello. I am replacing an Aqualumin II. It is 120V, 250 watt. Can I replace with the 12V, 100 watt Aqualumin III? If yes what is the advantage of the greater wattage/voltage? Brightness? Another person asked if it could be put on a dimmer which makes me think it might be too bright with the higher voltage/wattage. Thanks!

Hi, Mark. Yes, you can replace your existing Aqualumin II with this Aqualumin III model. The brightness will be reduced, and you will need a Transformer - PX300 to have 12 volts feed the fixture.
