Hi Mandi, No this pump does not have a boost setting. I have never heard of a boost setting on a pool pump. Are you speaking of a 2 speed pump where you have low Horse Power and High Horse Power? If so then we do have this 1.5 HP 2 speed above ground pool pump

can the discharge be rotated to horizontal for de filter?

Is there an option for a twist lock plug? If not is it easily changed? Twist lock is a requirement where I live.

Hi Nick, We don't carry the PureLine Pure Pro XL with the Twist Lock Cord pre installed but you can purchase this 3' Twist Lock Cord and install yourself it should be pretty easy. If you are replacing a pump with a twist lock cord then you could remove the old twist lock cord and install on the new pump.

i have a Hayward powerflo 1500 is this a suitable replacement the housing basket is cracked and leaking.

Yes this will be a suitable replacement for a Hayward Power Flo. The plumbing ports are not in the exact same spots for both pumps so you may have a little re-plumbing.
