This is a Hayward Vari-Flo XL multiport control valve. This valve is made of quality materials and engineered for maximum flow at lower pressure drops will be the choice in multiport valves. It will retrofit any filter that has an SP071113 valve that needs replacement and upgrading. Does not include clamp and o-ring.
This valve features an easy-to-use lever-action handle that lets you "dial" up to six valve/filter functions: filter, backwash, waste, rinse, closed or recirculate. Complete with an integral sight glass that lets you see when the backwashing cycle is completed.

I have a Hayward sand filter with a SP710 multiport valve. Do I need the SPX710X32 or the SPX710XR50?

The Hayward >SPX710XR50 is a valve that is only used on Hayward D.E. filters. If you have a Hayward sand filter you would either need a >SPX710X32 (Model S200 filter)) or a > >SPX710X62 (Pro Series Models).

I need parts for my filter valve. When I look at the filter parts breakdown, it gives me different choices. How do I know which one is the one I need?

In order to locate the correct parts we will need to know the model number of the filter valve. Two identical filters can have two different valves. Typically the valve model will be located on the label of the valve. If there is no model number on the valve, you can try to see if there are any part numbers on the valve itself. The original valve that came with our pool was 11 years old. The internal plastic had spread apart and would not longer seal good even with a new spider gasket. I bought this valve to replace the original and it was a perfect fit. The entire job including pipe connections took about one half hour. Everything worked perfect and I had absolutely no problems.

I had been searching for this valve for 2 years. Mine was leaking very badly. On every website it was almost as expensive as the whole filter/valve set up. Inyo pools had it $60 cheaper than anywhere else. Fit perfect and runs great. Install was easy. I had it in in 20 minutes.
