Your replacement motor is model BN24V1.
I need to replace my above ground pool pump motor. I see that your motor (1 H.P 115V Thru Bolt Motor - BN25) has my model # listed as an alternate motor model #. Mine is a Hayward power flo LX Mod # S48A84A04. I want to verify this is the proper replacement because I see the frame or FR #'s are different. Mine is 56Z and the new one is 48Y. Not sure what the FR #'s mean. Thanks for your help.
Hello John, the motor that matches with S48A84A04, is 1 HP Single Speed Motor - BN25V1 this is for frame 48y.

my 1777961 has a pneumatic switch . Is this motor compatible? How can I tell if it is a problem with this switch and not the motor?
Hi, Ken. This motor does not come with a pneumatic switch (On/Off) but you may be able to reuse the switch you have. You can try wiring the motor directly bypass the switch to see if the motor runs, if it does not then you know the motor is dead.
Hi, I have a Jacuzzi tub and its motor seems to be broken. The label has the following: Century Jetted Tub Motor 1795 Pump duty. A.O. SMITH. there is no CAT number. Serial number - BW11-20. Part # 7-187809-21. Which motor I need to buy to replace it? Do I need to buy any other parts beside the motor? Please advise. Thank you, Sophia Gianvecchio
Hi, Sophia. The Century BN25 Motor is the correct replacement for Part # 7-187809-21. When replacing the motor it's recommended that you replace the pump seal. To locate the pump seal I will need to know the model of the pump which is different from the motor.
Is this the same motor as the AO Smith 7-177760-23?
Yes this is the same motor as the AO Smith 7-177760-23
I am replacing a MagneTek 1.0 H.P. motor; part# 7-186532-21. I cannot find a reference to this model number anywhere. Will this pump be a suitable replacement? 115 volts, 3450 rpm, frame 48Y, 9.8 amps. Thank you...

Hi there, I'm going to get this motor with a sd-15-1n1cc wet end pump. Which seal kit would I need? Also let me know if i need anything else to install the motor. Thanks, Matt
Hi, Matthew. Unfortunately, we do not have a seal kit for that model pump. The replacement pump seal and o-rings are all listed on the Waterway Hi-Flo Above Ground Pump parts page.
Hi there, which seal kit would I need to replace this motor? Is there anything else I would need to install? Thanks, Matt
Hi, Matthew. The seal kit is specific to the pump, not the motor. Please provide us with the pump model number so that we can recommend the correct kit if one is available or parts.
I have this motor on my pool, can I use a bigger hp motor and 230v?
Yes, you can but usually, that entails using an inground pool pump. Also, you want to be sure that the gallons per minute rating on the filter can handle the flow rate of the stronger pump.
Will this motor replace the MagneTek 7-177893-21 ??
Hi, Eric. The BN24V1 is the correct replacement for p/n 7-177893-21. You can also use the BN25 motor as a replacement on selected pumps.

Hi, Paul. The BN25 motor is the correct replacement for p/n 7-176505-22. We highly recommend getting a seal kit if one is available for your pump, however, you we will need the pump model number to find out if one is available.
Hi, I have a pump motor Century Pool A.O. Smith BN25 part number 7-177894-24. The motor has been making a very loud screeching noise so I figure it time to replace it as it is 12 years old. Can you confirm this is the correct replacement. Also what is the power requirement? My current motor has a 230 volt plug and the outlet is 230 volt so I need to make sure this pump works with 230 volt plug. Thanks
Hello, Larry. Unfortunately, this motor is only 115V. It would be the correct replacement motor using part number 7-177894-24 or 177894 for those whom are 115V only. The BN35V1 is the only dual voltage Thru-Bolt motor I have been able to locate. Using this motor with your existing impeller will be okay, because you have not decreased the size of the motor. Don't forget to replace the shaft seal any time your replace the motor or impeller.
Will this motor replace A Q Smith ...pt #0-177893-24 frame P48Y Ser.# 08210 CH? Should I replace anything on the pump motor? Pump is a Waterway Model SP-10-1N11CB. Part Number 3410413-1502. I had rather replace pump and motor if you can tell me what to use, If you need more information, let me know. Thanks for your help.
The direct replacement for that pump is part number 5030-101.
I need to replace this motor so do i need any other parts before i replace it.
When ever you change out a motor, we would recommend you replace the shaft/pump seal as well. You will need to identify what pump make and model you have in order to locate the correct replacement part. The motor information will not be as beneficial as this replacement motor will fit on a number of different pumps.
We just need the end cap of this motor as it has cracked ( the part where the cord comes out of the top. Is this possible to purchase. Nothing wrong with motor.
is this motor the same model as S48C51Z03 sp1580z2
Yes, that would be a good replacement for your Hayward Power Flo LX.

Hello Benny, Check out our "how to" guides on checking your filter because the flow could be compromised, please check your pressure gauge and see if a replacement cartridge would fix the slow moving water flow.

I need to know what kind of screw to get to hold the ground lug to my pump body. My pump motor is an EZ48 or EZ BN25, Model S55CXRJD-8050. The ground lug is the copper piece that connects the ground wire coming from my pool to the pump motor housing. I have the ground lug, need to know what type of screw to get. The one I had washed away in heavy rain. I tried chatting with your live chat person but they never replied after the initial contact. My pool is now un-grounded. Need help soon!
Hi, I was unable to locate the information that you're requesting. You can stop by a hardware store to see if they have a motor lug available.
looking for Sta-Rite JWPA5E7I-2A1. Pump assembly:
Here is a link to the Sta-Rite JWPA Series Parts list. The parts list includes the specific pump parts available for the JWPA series.
looking for a motor for my Sta-Rite JWPA series.I know it's a 1hp/155 volts..thanks
The correct replacement motor for the Sta-Rite JWPA 1HP is the 1 H.P 115V Thru Bolt Motor - BN25 single speed. If you are looking to replace the 2-speed version you will need the 1 HP 2 Speed 115V Thru-Bolt Motor - BN37V1. We would also recommend that when replacing a motor that you change out the pump seal. The replacement is the Pump Seal 201 - PSR 201.
I need to replace my 12 year old JWPA5EL series 1 HP motor on 27 ft round, and I see the BN25 is the choice. 1) Would there be any gain in upgrading to the 1.5 HP motor w/same impeller? 2) Now, the shaft seal leaks, psi reads 14-15 (9-11 normal and I would clean cartridge @ 12), and water flow is pretty much abysmal. Is this attributable to the motor, impeller, leaking seal, or all? Note, I verified no restrictions to flow in the plumbing.
Hi Keith, There are no benefits upgrading to a 1.5 hp motor if you keep the same impeller. A leaking shaft seal does not lead to high filter pressure. You will have to replace the motor BN25, Shaft Seal and Volute O-ring along with the cartridge.
How can i find the part # off a terminal board and on and off switch 1hp hayward pump sp1510
Hi Sammy, If you can send us a photo of the Terminal board we can locate the correct replacement.

My current motor is a Waterway ezbn24 1.0 hp model number s55cxrjc-8049 10 amp. Would this be my replacement motor?
Hi Jim, Even though the BN24 motor that we carry says 3/4 HP it would be the correct replacement motor for you as Waterway uses a special horse power which is rated differently than most manufacturers. You will need the BN24 Replacement Motor.
Can this motor replace the motor on a Hayward power-flow matrix sp1510z1xehc?
Hi Bill, The BN25 motor can replace the SP1510Z1XEHC. The BN25 motor does not come with a switch.

Hi Eric, The BN25 motor is the correct motor for the PE71-II pump, you will also need to replace the shaft seal and o-rings which can be found via the Speck Model E-71 Pump Parts page.
My current pool pump motor is a Sta-Rite model # JWPA5E7L-2A1. (1.0 HP) This has probably been discontinued, so what replacement motor should I buy that will be equivalent to the one I have now?
My pool pump is a A.O. Smith # S48B74A03 and it squeals a lot. I want to replace the pump with a BN25. My question is do I need to purchase other items or is all I need included with the pump purchase?
Hi Rich, The BN25 will replace the S48B74A03 motor. You will need to replace the pump shaft seal and pump o-rings however, we will need to know the manufacturer and model of the pump housing.
Will a BN35V1 motor work on my pool replacing a BN25V1?
Hi Stephen, The BN35V1 motor can replace the BN25V1 motor, First you will have to make sure that your filter can handle the additional water flow. Once you confirm that it can then you will also need to change the pump impeller and seals.
Good evening. We have jet spa tub and our motor stopped working. Not sure if its the sensor or the actual motor itself. IF we need to replace the motor what would replace a MagneTek 7-177760-23 HP I. Volts 115. RPM 3450 AMPS 12.4. This is the motor that is currently on our spa tub now
Hi Chuck, The A.O. Smith 1 H.P 115V Thru Bolt Motor (BN25) will be the correct replacement motor base off of the information provided.
My motor seized up today. We had many days of rain and I am sure the old motor just shorted. It is a STA-RITE # s48B74A03 1 HP 3450 RPM 12 AMP and it attaches to a PUMP: JWPAS5F. What is the replacement motor needed?
Hi George, The A.O. Smith 1 H.P 115V Thru Bolt Motor (BN25) will be the correct replacement motor to replace model # S48B74A03.
I have a E91 pump need a motor replacement. Pool is above ground 24 foot round. You can't read what HP on motor. It is a 2 speed. Wondering if this replacement of 1 HP will be enough.

Hi Lloyd, The 1 H.P 115V Thru Bolt Motor (BN25) would be the correct replacement motor for your model pump. The replacement does not come with a power cord so you will have to reuse your current power cord if one is used.

Hi, Would this motor replace A.O.Smith/Century Pool Jetted Tub Motor 7-177894-24?

Hi Danny, this would be the correct replacement motor for your Hayward sp1510z1xehc. When replacing your motor we would also suggest a Hayward Matrix Shaft Seal.

i have a sta-rite pump model number jwpa5e7L-2a1. is this right replacement and is their anything else i'm going to need
Hi John, yes the BN25 is the 1 H.P 115V single speed Thru Bolt Motor option for your Sta-Rite JWPA Series pump. You will need to replace the shaft seal. See key #7 in this Sta-Rite JWPA Series Parts List. You have three options for the shaft seal: OEM, Generic, or Salt Water
I have a A O Smith motor as part number 7-177760-23 on label which brings up this BN25 as it's replacement. There is also a sticker on the motor that says it's a 1.5 HP A O Smith SPL. ?? Not sure if this is the correct motor.
Hi Eddie, The 1 H.P 115V Thru Bolt Motor (BN25) is the correct replacement for p/n 7-177760-23. The 1.5SPL is a reference to the windings in the motor not the HP.
Is the the replacement motor for jwpa5e7L-2A2
Yes, BN25 is the correct 1 HP replacement motor for your Sta-Rite JWPA series pump.
what are the motor windings made of? Is the wire windings aluminum? I have been trying to repair the winds.....and they do not appear to be copper colored, and will not take solder.
Charles, Some motor windings are made of aluminum or copper. The ones on your motor may be aluminum if not copper colored.
Is this motor a direct replacement for my Hayward Power-flo Matrix pool filter. Here the list of numbers on my unit. SP1510-Z-1-XEFTC Sp1592FTTL
Hi Ed, Yes this is the correct replacement motor for the 1 HP Hayward Matrix Pump. When replacing the motor on your motor we would suggest replacing your Hayward Matrix Shaft Seal.
I was wondering if the BN 25 is the correct motor/pump to replace the Sta-Rite JWPA5E7L-2A2 ? Will this motor/pump fit onto the existing base? Also, do you ship to Canada? Thank you for your time. Have a wonderful day!
Hi Darlene, yes this would be the correct replacement motor for your 1 HP Sta-Rite JWPA5E7L-2A2. This motor would fit onto your current motor base and we do ship to Canada. When replacing your motor we would suggest the Starite JWPA Shaft Seal. We also have A Guide With Video on How to Replace a Pool Pump Motor which should be helpful if you do this repair yourself.
Will this motor match mine which is Power-flo SP1700Z2? My electrical board cracked on my motor, can it be replaced?
Peter, This 1 H.P 115V Thru Bolt Motor (BN25) can replace your current motor on the Hayward Power-Flo pump. I would recommend confirming the p/n off of the impeller to make sure you're getting the correct size motor. The electrical switch can be replaced on some motor, if you can reply with your motor info I can see if it's available.
How in the heck do you separate the impeller from the motor.
Our guide with Video on How to Replace a Pool Motor shows the impeller removal in detail.
Is the motor already wired with 3 prong cord with plug
No this motor does not come with the 3 prong cord with plug, the majority of customers will remove the cord from their old motor and use on their new motor. We do carry a 3 Prong Pool Motor Cord here.
Will this replace the sta-rite JWPA5EL-2A1 pump
Hi Theresa this would be the correct replacement motor for the sta-rite JWPA5EL-2A1 pump. When replacing this motor you will also need the JWPA Shaft Seal here.
Replacement for Sta-rite pool pump motor . model JWPAS5F-2A4U
Hi Earl, I am showing that the JWPAS5F-2A4U is a 1-1/2 HP pump and would need our 1-1/2 HP JWPA Replacement Motor. When replacing your motor I would strongly recommend replacing your JWPA Shaft Seal as many times if you use your old shaft seal it will not mate up properly with the new motor and leaking will occur.
Is there an on-off switch under the back of the motor?
Hello Kevin - There is not a switch on the back of the motor. The on/off switch is part number 18374501. This part can be purchased separately.
Is this pump a new or refurbished one?
Mary, This is the price for a "NEW" motor.
Who is the manufacturer of the BN25?
The manufacturer of the motor is Century (formerly A.O. Smith).
My Emerson motor model number is S55CXPLF-7637. What motor is the correct replacement?
Hello Renee - The BN25 is the correct replacement motor.
Is there any difference between the AO Smith BN25 and the BN25V1?
No. The AO Smith BN25 and the BN25V1 are the same motor. The BN25V1 is the newer part number for the motor.
Does this motor come with a cord? If not, do you supply the correct cord?
The Magnatek BN25 does not come with a cord. For a 115 volt application, if you need a twist lock cord, you can find it here: http://www.inyopools.com/Products/07501352011327.htm or a standard 3 prong cord here: http://www.inyopools.com/Products/07501352015032.htm
I'm trying to find a replacement motor for my pool pump but my model number doesn't match what you have listed as the model number. My model number begins with a C48 and yours begins with an SP. Please help.
What we have listed on our chart pages is the pump model number. The model number you have will just identify the motor. If you look on the plastic housing on the pump there should be a sticker which will have the pump model number. You can usually find this by the discharge port on the pump. Once you locate it you can choose the correct replacement motor. Be certain to change the shaft seal and gaskets as needed. You can use our >How to guide if you need help.
Why should I purchase a Tune Up Kit?
A Tune Up Kit includes all of the essential replacement seals and gaskets for the pump. The seals and gaskets should be replaced when installing a new motor on your pump. New seals will prevent the pump from leaking water or losing the prime. A Tune Up Kit will protect your motor and ensure that the pump is working efficiently.
Why do I need to purchase a new shaft seal?
We strongly recommend replacing the shaft seal. The purpose of a shaft seal is to prevent water from running down the shaft of the motor and into the motor housing. Water will damage the bearings and cause the motor to fail. A new shaft seal should be installed whenever a motor is replaced. The motor manufacturer can deny the warranty if the motor fails to due to water damage from a faulty shaft seal. To find your shaft seal you will need to visit our Pool Pump Parts Page or the Spa Pump Parts Page and select your make and model.
What is Service Factor?
Service Factor(SF) is a multiplier that when multiplied by the horsepower of the motor indicates the total permissible horsepower loading that may be carried when the motor is operating at rated voltage and frequency. The most important thing to remember when replacing a motor is that the replacement motor's horsepower times its service factor must be equal to or greater than the original motor's horsepower times its service factor. The Service Factor rating can be found on the motor label. See Step 4 of our How to Read a Pool Motor Label guide.

This is a perfect fit for this an above ground pool pump, saving the owner several hundreds on a new pump by just changing motor. Don't forget seal kit. I picked here basically because of pricing, availability and relative quickness in shipping of product.
