John, Yes they are the same. Depending on the age of your pump, you may need to purchase the SPX1600SKIT1 kit.

Is this seal plate the same as the SPX1600SKIT1? I already purchased the GOKIT3SALT before taking the motor apart and finding my seal plate was deformed. I don't want to buy those parts again.

Hi, Chad. This Seal Plate - SPX1611E is slightly different to the one that is included in the Seal Plate Kit - SPX1600SKIT1. The Seal Plate - SPX2600E is the one that is included with the Seal Plate Kit - SPX1600SKIT1.

I'm not sure if I'm looking for a rubber gasket or the whole plate. Here are a few pictures to help tell the story. My pump is leaking between the water intake housing and the pump.
This is a situation where you will need to go down the process of elimination. I would recommend starting with the seals and gaskets. You can use either the GOKIT1 or GOKIT1SALT. If that doesn't work then it could be the entire housing, mounting plate or seal plate. You can always try and lay their flat sides on a flat surface to see if they have been warped at all as well. Also, inspect the bolt ports to make sure they are still in the housing and not coming out.

Will this seal plate allow me to upgrade my 1 HP Super Pump to a Hayward Super Pump VS Motor Upgrade Kit - 2.7HP - MKIT3VS27. I ordered this kit and the impeller that came with it does not fit in the old 1 HP seal plate.

Hello Phillip. The Seal Plate - SPX1611E5 is required to transition from the Hayward Super Pump 1.0 HP to the 2.5 THP Impeller contained in the Hayward Super Pump VS Motor Upgrade Kit 2.7HP MKIT3VS27.
