I have a Hayward Pro-Flo Matrix that uses the Century sp1515Z1ESC motor which is only 3 years old and today the pump motor did not start and I have 120v into the motor. What could cause this and can it be repaired?
 Reply

A  Answered on 9/20/2019 by Industry Professional

Possibly a start capacitor or insufficient voltage being delivered to the pump. look for burning on connecting wires and see if the cylindrical cap behind the end pack is leaking fluid.

I have an sp-1593. I was replacing the bearings and found that my engine cover has pretty much rusted onto the shroud assembly. Do you guys sell just the engine cover and through bolts?

Many design changes occur every few years, the motor manufacturers are not going to have these parts available separately. We would recommend a new motor.

Hi, Ken. The difficulty level is based on the customer skill set. You can use your existing power cord with the new motor. Check out our How to Replace an Above Ground Pool Pump Motor.

Hello Tom, unfortunately there is no way to hook up something like a 115v to a 230 breaker, you would end up blowing out something.

I have this motor and it ceased up yesterday then tripped the breaker. Every time we turned it back on it trips it right away. Would this be the motor or a breaker issue?
 Reply

A  Answered on 6/7/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Hector F.

If the breaker is still tripping then it is not likely the breaker and more likely an electrical issue or the motor.

 Reply

A  Answered on 11/4/2014 by InyoPools Product Specialist Brian M.

Good afternoon. The high pitch noise is the bearing starting to go. I can not say how long you have before it gives out. It could be a matter of days or weeks. The bearing are starting to stick which in turn causes more heat.

What is Service Factor?
 Reply

A  Answered on 1/11/2012 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Service Factor(SF) is a multiplier that when multiplied by the horsepower of the motor indicates the total permissible horsepower loading that may be carried when the motor is operating at rated voltage and frequency. The most important thing to remember when replacing a motor is that the replacement motor's horsepower times its service factor must be equal to or greater than the original motor's horsepower times its service factor. The Service Factor rating can be found on the motor label. See Step 4 of our How to Read a Pool Motor Label guide.
